it seems like a lot of the good park skiers are small-- is that cause they're young-- or cause small people have a higher propensity to be good in the park?
I'm 5' 11" 160--- and that's bigger than the av... I'm not a big guy by any means.
thye aren't all that small... i'd say most of them are like 5'6 - 6'1 or so... besides like spong, dumont, and other young kids.. but like rory, tj, andreas, peter, michael, d-dawg, cr, kristi, and aton others are all of good size
smaller people have a higher rotation easieness (that was scientific). anyways its easier for them to huck their bodies in the air and twirl around bc they usually have less mass and length of limbs to make it easier and quicker to grab. its easeir/quicker for a guy that 5'9'' to pull his knees up to his chest than a guy thats 6'3'' just purely on size/length alone
who would you consider a really good park skier? u havent even seen me ski so dont be calling me an everyday skier ok? i know what you're talking about though im just ranting
Rant away, I was just clearing up what he was referring to, so its not really my topic to elaborate on.....but I would guess really good means
1. Someone who is sponsored
2. Someone we have herd of
3. A skier who places high in good comps
4. Seen in magazines and movies
5. and....Someone who wears baggy clothes!
I know this list sucks but someone else can define "reallly good" for him.
P.S. the fact that you are taking offense to being called a everyday skier is hilarious. I also live in the PNW and I see plenty of baggy clothes. And I am an everyday skier (meaning not fitting most of my list above)
it's true, all of them are short........ but it doesn't matter cause skillzzz are skillzzz, and the tall people are going to destroy. the reason being everything is way smaller when your tall, especially rails....
im 6 feet, and i ski alot of park. its just harder to be more compressed and stylie in teh air, but i deal with it. look at pete olenick, for example. he is tall, and has alot of style too. just takes practice.
well you see, i believe in equilibrium. there has to be some sort of balance in the universe. that having been said, smaller guys have bigger balls, whereas taller guys have smaller balls, thus preserving my theory of equilibrium.
i don't think there is ne thing different between a tall and short skier cept the ski size john spriggs 6'4'' threw the same switch 10 as everyone else dave chrition 6'2'' he is one of the sickest skiers ever
im 6'3'' and i can spin off jumps and rails and do everything plus some of wut my shorter friends can do
it's all good with height just as long as a 6 ft guy aint rocking ne thing smaller then a 180
ill prove you wrong: I ski, play lacrosse, swim, and play soccer, tennis, karate tourneys, etc. I'm 5'5". So be quiet about how short people cant do shit. Cuz we can.
