Islam as a political ideology is bad, you are naive to say otherwise. Although not all muslims subscribe to political islam, it cannot be solely blamed on a few extremists, the rise of the MB in Egypt being a perfect example. Comparing hardline islamism with the westborough baptist church (with a whopping total membership of 50 people) is absolutely asinine. Last time I checked westborough loonies don't target and murder Jewish school children in cold blood. You are a multicultural idiot with zero frame of reference (crusades, really?).

Try living in the heart of the south like me. Its fucking awful. The other day a kid drove his truck to my high school with confederacy flags on it.
 
Religion as a political ideology is bad, I agree with that. However when people generalize and call islam a violent religion, that doesn't carry much weight in my books. Sure people do violent things in the name of that religion but if we were going by that than christianity wins. You can look at most religions and find violence in their scriptures but that has little to do with the people who practice it. People need to look at the whole picture and realize that homophobia, sexism, racism, has a lot of roots in religions that we widely accept in the west and this influences violence in our public policy against these people. I'm not saying that islam is peaceful, but then neither is christianity. I'm saying that basing politics off of any religion is bad, and that any religion can and has been practiced both peacefully and violently. America is a christian nation and that is just as much of a problem as an islamic nation could be, we are just more adapted to what christianity dictates. anyways.

It fits the definition pretty tightly. People don't like taxes because they take away from things people have done to contribute to things they might not want to. The bottom text means that people are paid less than the amount of money they make for the company; a company can still make money and pay employees the value or what they contribute. Anything else is taking away from them money that they have earned through their work'; the exact thing people don't like abut taxes.

we all know we americans dont give two fucks about anyone but ourselves. I dont care about people in europe or what they do or how they live. But somehow so many damn foreigners are so concerned with what goes on here. Seems like jealousy to me. Everyone hates Alabama football and their fans because they are jealous the team they root for sucks in comparison.
 
if you knew anything about history and current events you'd know that the reason that people don't like the US is because it can't keep its grubby hands off foreign countries

we may have some huge fucking problems in this country but trust me when I say that we live some of the most privileged lives in world. Our country is far from perfect and IMO there may be better places to live, by some measures; but no where is free from conflict or social injustice.

America isn't the greatest country in the world. Canada is. Why? We enjoy all the same benefits/safety of being American, without any of the international responsibility, and without all the partisan idiocy. can't wait to move back.
 
In my opinion, America is the greatest nation on earth. That being said, why do threads like these always appear? Why must non-Americans always have to hate on the US and compare things from their country to ours. Who fucking cares. If you love your country and think it is the greatest on the earth, good for you; that's the beauty of freedom. I just don't understand some people feel the necessity to always find aspects of America that aren't the greatest and compare them to their home nation. I kind of look at it as the bully in school who is insecure, so he picks on other people to make himself feel better. If you are truly happy with your country, why mock someone elses. This goes for all nations. FUCK.

Canada is pretty cool

but one of those beautiful countries like in south america or somthing where u can ski and surf in the same day and there isnt some rich ass mother fucker making rules

 
It's per capita anyways, otherwise countries with 4 million people like New Zealand certainly wouldn't be on that list for anything at all. Unless New Zealand is entirely made up of teens pregnant with octuplets. Totally possible I guess.
 
This graphic is so shitty and misleading. It selectively chooses things America is #1 in and only uses those. Plus its wrong about CO2 emissions (which is the only one I looked up) and could be wrong about more on there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions

Also its weird McDonald's restaurants on on there... Its an American company, obviously it has the most locations in America. You could literally choose a fast food place from any country and do that.

I don't really understand why this thread is necessary though. I wouldn't want to live any where else, but I don't think there can be a greatest country.
