Just curious if anybody else got stuck working on either of these joyous days?

I'm working both. I found out through a phone call with my boss that went like this;

Boss " So!, I decided to give everyone a paid vacation day on Christmas and New Years!....

.....Except for you."

Who can relate to this?

I can. I am working at the mountain on Christmas afternoon because a client wants to come in for a private lesson. Though I told him he had to compensate me well. I also have to work New Years Eve at the restaurant, which means I'll be there until 3 in the morning.

I feel your pain Marcus...

i would be working christmas eve, but i've got the flu, so now i'll only be working boxing day, and most likely new years eve and new years day. At least I get to stay home christmas eve....

here's to christmas eve at the restaurant. Seriously though, who goes out to eat on christmas eve?

All i remember last year going through my mine is that i DIDNT want to work on new years, and thank god i didnt.

working on christmas is so dumb. seriously its the one holiday everyone should take off.

my boss asked me to work on eve but i said i had to curl, and on christmas our place is closed anyways.

he asked me if i could come in for a few hours on new years and i said sure. but i work in a pizza place so i probably wont even leave until 12. if i dont get off before 12 though i'm just leaving fuck that.

8-5:30 christmas eve. not bad. not sure about new years yet. even if I did have to work the latest I'd be there would be 7:30 so again, not bad.

Working new years sucks. Especially at a restaurant where you only get to leave after all the customers do usually. Just get a little drunk and it goes by quicker aha.

i have to buy gifts now for my co workers. its easy except for one of them...what do you get for a middle aged lebanese pizza shop owner?

I have to work second shift 330pm to 12am on Christmas eve but other than that i have new years/ new years eve off and and christmas day

10-5 on christmas eve and probably the whole day/night for new years

i work at a pizza shop so its gunna be busy

When I worked for Staples those bastards never paid me anything more than regular wage for holidays, fuck em.

I could MAYBE see why you'd be busy on New Years, but Christmas eve? What the hell kind of cheap substitute for turdunkin' is that?

eve isnt bad at a pizza shop...but haloween and new years SUCK. halloween was fucking outrageous at the shop i work at, looked ike the fuckin dmv the line was so huge.

im leaving in an hour to go shovel snow and i will get done Christmas eve morning.... last year i spent new years shoveling in front of a strip mall.

I'm working new years eve at a restaurant at Sugarbush its not going to be bad though cause I want to leave work, hang around for a bit then hike the park and be sliding a rail in the park when 07 turns to 08. It may be a bit ambitious though.
