FUCK the police

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

You're title says whos hot in the industry, and you go on to ask whos gonna win the comps. I hate to break it to ya dude, but comps are fuck all. Its all about vid seggys and all around image. Comps are situational, there are too many variables. I could count the amount of skiers on one hand who have the talent and consistency to clean up... We know who they are. However, if you want to only see those guys ski, well, hey i'm not holding you back. Personally, I'm all about seeing the dozen or so kids are filming and throwing shit down and aren't so stoked on comps. Everyone knows its anyones game on any given comp day (back to the 3 or 4 guys who you can count on winning everything), but that does not rep the true shit, certainly not the 'industry' as you call it.

Look for Dash, Crichton, Olenick(s), Mickael (ironically takes his first title this weekend), Pep, hell, all the usual suspects... But what I'm getting at is that I'm almost more stoked to see what the new kids are bringing to the table. Dont just care about whos winning comps.

umm i would like to see rex come out strong and start winning.. but tannible, liam downey, and if he stays healthy scott hibbert.

i disagree with GarrettBritta... completely.. Your true ability is show in comps. I mean those guys go out and shoot for months and get like 3 minutes of footage... all you see is the best stuuf they land, any professional can go out and huck nonstop and come up with 3 minutes of footage but it takes talent to be able to do it on a jump that you dont getta decide if you like it or not and on a day that weather and how your feeling doesnt matter. People can compete regularly are the best skiers by far

its all about pep and jon NOT NOT NOT cuz the X games but yes because the vig segs and they just kick ass all around

-dont spank tourons thay will yell-

hucksplat, are you serious, that is insane, i think its impossible to land on a rail with that much downward force.

tanner's on fire, so is candide, but i would expect a lot to come from olsson this year as well, and reedy is breakin through...

now when somebody asks me if i ever decapitated a fetus, i know what to say- My lab partner after a dissection gone wrong.

People that can compete will aren't the best skiers by 'far'. Are they good skiers, yes of course they are or they wouldn't be there in the first place. The people that win comps though have a mental toughness that other people dont have. Winning is more mental than physical when you get to that level. Thats how it is in every sport.

Lance Armstrong is probably the most mentally tough person in the world, thats why he has won 3 Tour de Frances in a row. I guarantee that their are stronger riders out than him, he just has a mental advantage over them all. I would say Tiger Woods as well, but he is the best golfer physically and mentally, so not a good comparison.

But yeah, I hope more people like Reedy and Mickael can break through and win some comps and put some new faces out there. More people like the Olenicks and Hibbert, Derek Finn and Jeremy Weir and Ben Grunow, those guys are all incredible skiers that half of you have never heard of, yet they come around here all the time, well some of them do. The talent pool in skiing is definately getting a lot deeper and that is awesome.

And JoshB, Jeremy Weir should have a section this year in your movie, the one clip in Strike Three didnt do the kid any sort of justice.

I don't agree with you Mills. 'any professional can go out and huck nonstop and come up with 3 minutes of footage' You're way off on this one, in fact there is nothing true about your statement. You dont even pretend to account for the creativity, effort and determination that goes into a segment by the rider, nor any account for the equal work from filmographer... All this barring interruptions from stuff like equipment, weather, injuries, etc. Under your theory, 'any' professional can go out and put down a segment like Tanner or Candides in Happy Dayz, like Crichtons in Strike Three... Dash's in Stereotype - To name a few.

You're criticizing the role of films based strictly off of what is being 'hucked'. A good film consists of far more than that. Hell, if the lighting is off shots get scrapped. There is far more work put into a good video segment than any day of comp. A good film segment reflects the riders ability to throw down when the timing is right. That if anything is enough evidence to equal those conditions you say puts riders on top of comps. You're right in a sense that the best riders can throw down in comps on any given day, but like I said my friend, I can count the number of skiers who can do that on one hand. There is far more to the 'industry' (as this thread is pertaining to) than that. Besides, comps REGULARLY have less than ideal conditions, less than ideal terrain, and less than ideal pressure. If you wanna see guys hack it thru all day, fine by me. Dont get me wrong, the top performances you'll see all day will be sick, but why not provide the ideal conditions, including a creativity factor (which is far more powerful than you think) and see what guys can put to the table.

jon mc murrays better than me by a hell of a lot, but back flips off rails, i dont know, its kinda dumb lookin to me, but of course tanners hot, and candide, crs great to, hes just been havin a bad comp year

It doesn't matter if you win or loose. It's making fun of the little fat kid that comes in last, that counts.

in the newest SBC SKIER (sweet canadian mag) it talks about jon mcmurray pulling a two lane road gap backflip, to landing on a rail in australia or something
