Who's got no poles but still got style..?

Welcome to NS. I hope you have a pleasant experience here.

I personally ski with poles, I have since I was about 3, so its pretty engrained in my brain. It just feels right to me... Ive seen a lot of kids ski no poles and ski really good and sylie, but i can't do it...

for riding with no poles in the park i fell that people that flail there arms a bit on rails and in the air are the perfect subjects for no poles. poles = more visible flail, no poles = not very visible flail. so basically if you dont haev alot of style and you move your arms alot, try no poles and see if it improves style.

on a side note i rock no poles sometimes just for fun so i can hang off of trees and such.

Sometimes I use um sometimes I don't where in France Ill be in Chamonix for a bit this winter.

These guys slay with no poles!

E'Dollo and Tanner Rainville, but he rocks poles most of the time. Also Garrett Russel, Bernie Rosox and MALONE

I skis without poles too!! Then Pep kills it without poles, Garrett Russell kills it without poles, mad kids kill it without poles

hope the sarcastic meeter is set on high on this one..,.

but all the pros who ski with nopoles run shit with style.

you forgot these:

[claim] that's funny, because it just so happens i have an incredible amount of style. and no poles[/claim]

fuck those little sticks. how are you supposed to keep your hands warm if theyre grasping onto those stupid things.

t wallisch does sometimes. and there are others named above me.

i ski with them, and have no hate towards people who dont use them

i personally think its more fun to ski without poles but i fell more in control with them

I use a little of both...and this is way cool, no one has hated on him yet for posting another no poles thread!

I think this ns change is a good thing.

oh dear lord, another no poles thread...... welcome to ns, your first lesson is to not bring up this subject... even again

dude chill out. noob bombs are from before you even came on NS. I came to NS during the noob bomb phase. if you could get into donators you'd see an eastar5 thread that your name belongs in. thats all the info you'll get.

so welcome to NS man. all the way from france. thats pretty sweet that we're getting more members from outside the US and canada. I rock poles. 48 inch ones to be exact. i've gove no poles for a couple runs here and  there just to mess around and spinning feels so much more floaty without them i like my poles better.

poles are so programmed into my brain that i cant ski without them, so i just use super short poles in the park and normal sized ones out of the park

hehe, there was a movie just like that, i tihnk it may of been named memento (something along those lines, and it wasnt about dicks)

yeah to tell you the truth the only time i don't use polls is when i ski fun little cat tracks.

like hitting up those jumps on the sides and just screwing around.

i picked up this habit cause i ski with 4 snowboarders and they always are having me tow them on flats, so i give em a pole to help. haha

i think skiing without poles looks unnatural to me and kinda akward in most situations, i think i would fuck up a lot without poles

thanx for all your answers and yeah i tought that would be a funny screen name lol...

i just went to you tube and found a video of that tom wallish guy and damn he has style for sure!!

i never seen pep riding with no pole but i guess it has to look real dope...!!

and i just had a look at dat video of mick and henrik from this summer on daily and i think those guys have a lot of style with no poles ...

personally i feel better with no poles for grabs and small tabletop but i agrre that you need poles when you ride fast bigger jumps...

When you ski with no poles it works on style, occasionally i ski without them just to either perfect a grab or handplants ect. I prefer using poles

Yeah they help a lot with that. I consider a rail setup luxurious if it has enough in run to go no poles; I hate carrying them around when hiking.
