Anyone here planing on going to Russia to watch ? Im seriously thinking about it... The terrain looks so sick and the women and partying will be next level over that time period

i have friends on the canadian team who's parents arent even attending because of the costs.... your willing to tell me your gonna drop potentially 10s of thousands on going???

fuck that.. I don't suggest it to anyone for a few of the following reasons-most people will speak russian even though its the olympics. they don't give a shit.

-the cost will be highly expensive, plane tickets on there own are already a shitload of money.

-there will be SOO much people everywhere, which I hate, maybe you don't

-You need a russian Visa in order to get through there borders, which is a pain in the ass cause they are EXTREMELY picky about the details.

-Russians don't smile, not to foreigners at least.

-if you happen to unfortunatley look queer, they'll arrest you.

Me! Got my tickets for mens ski slopestyle, halfpipe, aerials, and men's hockey USA vs Russia and USA vs Slovakia. Stoked!

Yeah I did put most of the costs down to accommodation actually. Are you talking about watching the entire Olympics or just skiing/snowboarding?

Nope but I'm stoked to watch it on tv! 2010 Vancouver was sooo fun to watch, especially the hockey

My price breakdown.

1100 - flight LA - Sochi and back.

150 - visa

200 - event tickets

800 - spending money

My lodging/food is free :) but hotels are still around 150 a night ...so 75 per person. Leaving a 1000 lodging and local travel budget would work. So for about $3000 you could have a pretty amazing 10 day trip. Likely a lot less if you're thrifty.

I looked into going, and I have to tell you these quotes are way lower then anything I found. I would love to know wheere you bought your event tickets, and what that includes.

I found that tickets (for stuff worth going to) were way over 1000. Hotels more like 500 per night. Can you give a source to where you found these prices?

Maybe because I booked everything in September? But there are affordable hotels if you aren't in walking distance. Event tickets... The slope style/half pipe were 60 each then I booked a few preliminary hockey games at $15 each. I hAvent seen anything that expensive. Maybe Canada vs russia final.... But I didn't even look at that. Flight... That was pretty painless. Just need to watch airfares. And don't fly out the 24th like everyone else. I have all of my stuff already, so I assure you, I'm not making things up. I'll be there as a volunteer though which is why my housing is free. Everything else, including event tickets, I have had to pay for.
