Who's getting the h1n1 vaccine?

At the dorms people get quarantined and put in single rooms when they get swine.. I'm pretty sure I had it too

HAHA NOOO WAY JOSE. I wouldn't get it even if someone paid me to. Too many risks and it's still in the early stages bring on teh swine, there's hospitals and doctors to help.

i got mine today because i work in a hospital. so its supplied, no line ups etc.. i thought the same, and its funny how everyone freaking out because people die, but thousands of people die every year from the NORMAL flu..apparently the demographic that is getting sick from this h1n1 shit is the younger healthy crowd with a good immune sys...

clever
i'm not gonna get it, i already have a normal flu vaccine, i think i already had h1n1, and i don't wanna get pumped with vaccines

i got the normal flu shot but i don't think i'm gonna get the h1n1. i'm not sure how i feel about it.

agreed. vaccines are full of an altered h1n1 virus that will not get you sick (hopefully). This allows your body to create anti-bodies that will fight the real virus if it is ever in your system. if anything it will strengthen your immune system.

everyone should get the shot, I am not a doctor, but both my parents are, most of you are know-it-alls anyways so there is no point in explaining further.

fuck it as long as i dont die from it im fine. i literally havnt met one single person whos had H1N1.

No, because I already hads swine flu, but even if i hadn't already had it I wouldnt get it because everytime i've gotten a flu shot in the past i've gotten super sick from it.

i shall elaborate. i asked my doctor. he said the only people he would recommend it for are people in hospitals (they risk infecting people who are already weak), teachers (dont need to spread it to thousands of kiddies), and maybe preggo chicks.

everyone else he said can if they want, but theres not much point.

my thoughts exactly, id rather risk it and get this mild flu, which wont kill me cause im in great health, then waste my fucking health on some flu shot which makes you feel shitty after you get it, its not as big of a risk as its hype'd up to be.

I'm going to get it mostly because my mum is a doctor and whatever walks through her office usually ends up around my house. I don't get sick often and when I do it is very mild, but I've been getting flu shots pretty regularly throughout my life so it probably plays a part.

our school is only making us get it if your parents want you to get it. im getting it cuz theres no point to not get it

to call doctors drug dealers is incredibly retarded, you obviously lack intelligence if that is what you think, anyways... The main reason that people are worried (people that have actually looked into it, not just assumed it is bad based on unfounded presumptions) is the adjuvant that is in the vaccine, which has been used successfully on millions of people in Europe.

Think about the swine flu epidemic in the (what was it) 70's? soo many people became paralyzed and suffered extreme side effects from the vaccine...i don't trust it yet it's too new.

i'll get a regular flu shot and if i get sick i know to go to the hospital.

actually thats funny you say that, the reason i sided with getting it was seeing all the prominent doctors and a whole whack of nurses are getting it..i boycotted the normal flu vaccine, i haven't gotten it in at least 3 years..

Good post.
In canada we're getting Pandemrix (GlaxoSmithKline)
It contains an adjuvant which makes it more effective requiring less anti-gen.
This information is from their leaflet.
what Pandemrix contains:
• Active substance:
Split influenza virus, inactivated, containing antigen* equivalent to:
A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)v-like strain (X-179A) 3.75 micrograms** per 0.5 ml dose
*propagated in eggs
** expressed in microgram haemagglutinin
This vaccine complies with the WHO recommendation and EU decision for the pandemic.
• Adjuvant:
The vaccine contains an ‘adjuvant’ AS03 to stimulate a better response. This adjuvant contains
squalene (10.69 milligrams), DL-α-tocopherol (11.86 milligrams) and polysorbate 80 (4.86
milligrams).
• Other ingredients:
The other ingredients are: polysorbate 80, octoxynol 10, thiomersal, sodium chloride, disodium
hydrogen phosphate, potassium

You should all research the bolded ingredients yourself and come to your own conclusions but I'm was offered the vaccine yesterday. Before the lines and crowds and I'm taking my chances.

heres some facts.
Both vaccines contain a small amount of thimerosal. Thimerosal is a form of mercury used in the H1N1 flu vaccine to stabilize it and maintain its quality during storage. Thimerosal is a different form of mercury than the mercury known to cause health problems. The amount in the H1N1 adjuvanted flu vaccine is much less than the daily limit recommended for environmental exposure to mercury. For example, there is significantly less mercury in the vaccine than you would find in a can of tuna fish ... Yes, the unadjuvanted vaccine does contain 50 ug of thimerosal while the adjuvanted vaccine has only 5 ug of thimerosal. The 50 ug remains within the daily limit recommended for environmental exposure to mercury.
Health Canada has recommended that children under the age of three receive the unadjuvanted vaccine. Some people believe that thimerosal in vaccines is reponsible for the increasing rates of autism. No matter what one may believe, thimerosal is a hazardous substance. The Material Safety Data Sheet for thimerosal says that chronic exposure can cause mutagenic effects in mammals. The State of California has required products containing harmful metals, or chemicals be labelled with a warning"This product contains the following ingredients for which the State of California has found to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, which would require a warning under the statute: Thimerosal."The United States did not purchase adjuvanted vaccines, and the nasal (live) vaccine does not contain thimerosol. The United States has not used thimerosal in children's vaccines since 2006.
meaning that most likely everyone on this site has already received a vaccine with thimerosal in it, since the united states only stopped using it in 2006.

Well, they do more than just "sign" a piece of paper that allows patients to do drugs. If that is all you think a doctor does it is clearer to me that you actually are handicap, perhaps a product of never actually seeing a doctor. Anyways, there are a variety of different doctors, including specialists, researchers ect. that have done leaps and bounds in the past 50 years towards improving our quality of life. Many doctors are actively involved in the academic community which is devoted to finding cures and understanding diseases. The drugs they give out, they actually understand how they work and what they do, which in turn allows the patient to be healed, and in many cases (at least here in Canada), will offer alternative ways of being treated depending on your condition that do not include drugs, and when my wife is pregnant we will be sure to have a close relationship with our doctor as to ensure the child's health, and do everything we can to make sure he/she doesnt end up like you.

of corse links to things called "FLU SCAM" and "THINK TWICE" are going to be opposed to the idea of getting the shot, but there's two sides to every story, thanks for your input and information you found, its good for the one side of the argument, but did you happen to read my post with actual information?..

i'v e already had swine flu and it was a pussy disease. it didn't even have any lasting damage to my body.

i already said it is used as a stabilizer, as well it lengthens the self life quality.
no need to get so defensive dude, i was simply trying to find out peoples opinions of getting it or not getting it.
i've already gotten the shot, i work in a healthcare facility, and yea. i was very partial and up in the air but decided to get it. and that was my decision.
