Matt, I think you were misinformed. Canada was going to be called 'The pretty land with pretty jay' but they decided not to use that name, because then everyone would want to live here, and also because 'Canada' fits better in our national anthem.

Harvey: There was a miscomunication between the indian chief's and the first people in canada...the native chief pointed to his settlement and called it Canada, but the white d00d thought he meant the entire country, so it was called Canada.

I am pretty sure Kanata means 'little village' or something to that extent in ojibway or some native language.

Anyone from ottawa should come up to Edelweiss on sunday for our fun day and prob the last day we'll be able to hit the park. We're doing a 100ft puddle skiing comp with tons of prizes from alot of the local ski/board and skate shops. come out, session the park and try out the pool. theres also a dummy jumping comp in the morning which should be hilarious to watch
