WHOS BETTER: Jesus or God

neither, because none of them ever existed.

well, there might have been someone named jesus that was alive 2006 years ago, but he definitly didn't have god like powers

haha, ya, you're right...bringing people back to life, healing the terminally sick, and comming back from the dead himself aren't god like powers

and i don't think either is better...they are equal

you know this for a fact?

no you dont

someone probably made you go to church and read the Bible, and told you you were going to Hell if you ever thought outside the church. i dont understand why people are so afraid to question religion, Gods not going to punish you for having your own ideas

by the way, Jesus may very well have existed, but never had and magical powers. the bible is just an exaggerated interpretation of what really happened 2000 years ago.

actually the bible has been proven to be very accurate as far as what when on 2000 years ago. and you're right Jesus didn't have magical powers...it wasn't magic, it was real

i dunno, the fact that 2 highly educated men, lee strobel(a journalist) and josh mcdowell(a laywer), both spent 2 years to try and prove the bible wrong and are now believers should tell you something.

Exactly, if anyone has any religous background or knows anything about it at all, they know that god=jesus the actual body of jesus isnt actually a different person, its just a representation of god, but in a human form.

Didn't God make that pussy jesus? I'm pretty sure God made everything, even evolution.

Now, I'm not sure if the Holy Spirit made god (is god a spirit?). If that's the case, the Holy Spirit reins thrown. If not God is the ultimate man, but God's still just a door man in heaven and I would imagine that isn't the best job up there.

Jesus isn't even in the equation. Jesus is a bottom feeder in the hierarchy of 'almighty'. You celebrate God and the Holy Spirit every day. Jesus is praised on one measley day, Christmas. We are all celebrated like him with birthdays, more people are invited to Jesus's though. Although Jesus's birthday is pretty lame, it's a B.Y.O.B.; I'm surprised people show. You could say Jesus is a prostitute to the religious culture just as Tom Cruise is to the movie industry. So really, Jesus is just some crazy scientology celebrity with short man's syndrome. Fuck Jesus.

and Stepp wants to call us "churchgoers" brainwashed. C'mon...BTW, for those of us that have thought inside and outside of Christianity (I'm now back inside and will stay there), check out what is going on in the Middle East. Everything going on over there was already written in that book that you criticize so freely. There is a lot more to this Bible than religiosity. I don't do religion, but relationship and experience are real.

he was Jewish by religion too. He wasn't very popular with Jewish religious authorities, but he was Jewish nonetheless.

I say God just because he has a dope name.

I've never been to church. That's what I've gained from an outside perspective. Personally, I think the 'SAVED' are the people who didn't buy into religion. They worry life and have less moral headaches. They observe and form an opinon. They're happen with this decision because they don't have a third party filled with morals differing from their own. Oops, I'm getting onto a different issue, I'll sit here and repent.

Can I get an aaaaaaaAAAAAAA-MEN! (black chruches make religion funny and entertaining. i would definately attend their mass.)

i think someone should make a comercial on the topic of religion.

something like

"ONLY YOU can stop religion from takeing over your life"

or

"Say no to religion", after all, religion is adictive, just like drugs

and some of those sentences make me sound like a retard....figure out the misspelled words, it'll improve your education. however, no one is as powerful and might as earth.

I'm in no way knocking on church goers or saying they are brainwashed. im a catholic, i dont go to church, but i belong to a church.

i was simply stating that his comment about jesus's godlike powers made him seem like he hasnt given an attempt to think outside of the church. i think its pointless trying to have an argument if you havent experienced both sides. cuz that would be very closed minded

i dono, thats all i was trying to say. everyones entitled to believe what they want, i dont want to stop anyone from thinking that

fer sure...there are just mad people on here who jump on the "Jesus hate" bandwagon like it was the latest Abercrombie polo. Don't try the religious part of it (catholicism), try the experience part of it (reading the Bible, praying, ie. talking to God). I wasn't bashing you Steve, you seem like a legit guy.

well now, that's all wrong. if anything, Jesus is at the top of the "hierarchy" and the centerpiece of christianity. afterall, it was JESUS who died for the sins of the world and saved anyone who believes in him, therefore it was JESUS who made it possible for believers to have direct access to God (as opposed to going through a high priest), and it was JESUS who sent the Holy Spirit down to earth after he died. so to say that Jesus is merely a bottom feeder and a "celebrity" is pretty ignorant whether you're christian or not.

pretty sure i'm 100% accurate. my philosophy didn't have any sarcasm in it at all, i swear. that is how i truely view relgion. i think tom cruise is one in the same with jesus. in fact any celebrity is an act of jesus to me. they don't even really have to be a celebrity, even if they air on TRL they're jesus to me.

alright, if that's what you want to think.

but what i'm saying is that even most non-christians will acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God, and that God is most certainly not just the "door man" of heaven, whether they believe any of it or not.

and for the record, the Holy Spirit did not create God and God is indeed a spirit. God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit constitute the Trinity. they are one and the same, yet separate.

whoa still didn't realize i wasn't being serious huh.....cool buddy. dip into this thread with 100% seriousness and unveil the question people have been asking since religion was formed. i know you're gonna find the right answer, you have the drive in you. preach it brotha!

ha, sorry bro. i like to take my faith seriously, if that's okay with you? i'm pretty sure i've found the right answer in Jesus Christ already. but don't take my word for it, explore for yourself. and maybe you should consider making your e-sarcasm more apparent.

no he was jewish by religion to ur a moron.. and jesus and god are one in the same... better way to explain it would be look at a 3 leaf clover. father son and holy spirit.. there all the same in one

jesus = tom cruise, jesus = TRL guest, jesus = bottom feeder......im not even religious and i can tell those aren't serious statements. how could you read that and think otherwise. clearly your vision has be clouded by the 'faith' from jesus christ, your savior.

if 'jesus' told you to kill yourself because someone else was going to try to kill you, i'd imagine you'd do that. it's crazyness. fucking cults. you people need to chill out on this religious drug and hop on the freedom-of-personal-beliefs train. i can see you might counter with religion is a personal belief, no way, it's constantly badgered into your brain. people end up believing it this mumbo-jumbo becuase they have nothing else to assure them with. you want to seem significant, so you need miracles as a means of your existance. like this 'human' form was all mighty and power and if you act like him you could be protected by him. do cows have a jesus too, or are we the only species that gets to have a spirit and the ability to determine right and wrong. it's nonsense i say!

but you are in a cult and no one can free you from that, it's embedded into your brain. i say cult and it may sound harsh, but you're a member of the most accepted cults in society. they're not a bad thing, but to acknowledge it as anything else is absurd. in fact churches are great for humanitarian reasons, however it spins out of control when you get situations like countries in the middle east. where a religion belittles a different religion.

anyway, that's a battle i will never win and i've agree'd to disagree. it's people like Bush who give religous people the common characteristic of being nieve and closed minded. when you start making decisions based on your religous belief, for people who don't have those same beliefs (stem cell research, i want a spare organ awaiting my need for it. as long as my life is prolonged).

it would be funny is bush died due to a lack of organs necessary for a transplant he needed in the future. he would be crying about that veto for sure.
