i was walking down the stairs and i twisted my ankle something vicious. anyway, i get mad, and punch the wall. i punch through the sheetwalk. my dad's pissed. he says it cant be fixed, ('YOU TRY MATCHING THE TEXTURE! YOU TRY MATCHING THE PAINT!) so what should i do?

i used to punch and kick holes in my walls all the time. get some drywall tape and putty and patch her up. its pretty easy, he is just making you feel bad.

 
Your dad is completely overreacting. I have patched many holes in sheetrock in my life. It is not that hard. Also, don't most people keep some paint from when the house was built or last painted in their garage or basement?

yeah that works- got drunk last summer and totally threw like 8 fists threw the basement door, tossed a an old school nitro snowboarding poster over it my parents have never found out.

 
Ok so first get a stud finder, then find the nearest studs next to it, then you need to find the middle of the stud and cuz like a 12 inch even square around it, so the edges are halfway into the stud, you can use a dremel if you want but use like a metal rule to push against so you get the lines straight. I am assuming you have like the usual orange peel texture, so take this square to your hardware shop. Make sure you get the same width drywall,(probably 3/8's for the wall) and get a piece and cut a square out thats 12 by 12 and put it back in the spot you cut the other one out. That hardware people should be able to pick out the texture for you, I am betting its orange peel and you can get that in a can. Now you need to get drywall tape and mud, tell the hardware people they will get you what you need.

now what you need to do is take a putty knife and srape the texture away for about 5 inches around your square, now that that is smooth put your square in, now put your mud in along the crack about 3 inches wide, now that the crack is covered put the tape across it and cover that in mud and then scrape it smooth so the tape is over the crack. Let that dry for 2 Nights.

Now take the mud and spread it out smoothly from about the center of the square to the 5 inches out side your square where you smoothed too, leave just enough mud to where you can't see the tape through it. So now let this dry, 1 night/ Now you need to get 1 piece of fine grit sand paper made for drywall at your hardware store again. wHEN THIS IS DRY smooth the joint as smooth as you can get itwith the wall, now spray it with the orange peel stuff and make sure you practice on extra drywall outside first so you know what to expect. When that drys you will have to paint that whole wall if you want it to match perfectly, which will take like 30 minutes really. Just do 1 coat on that square then when that dries do the whole wall.

Voila its totally gone.

I know it sounds like a bunch but it will really only take like 1-2 hours max, and like 50 bucks cuz paint is like 20 for the gallon. Peace out.

That guy is making it 50 times harder than it really is, jesus, all you have to do is buy a drywall patch, this thin metal piece, with this sticky netting on it, put it on/in the whole, then just plaster it smooth and re-texture it with one of those spray texture cans, with teh different tips so its the same, then paint. About an hour long process, will cost ya 20 bucks at the most.
