Fuck yeah. The setup was so crazy. Props to everyone. Thanks for coming to Bro-Cal and showing everyone whats good.

SKILOVE!

Definitely a crazy setup, really scary at first but it wound up being pretty fun. Stoked to be at Big Bear in the funshine!

Don't get me wrong the setup looks sick, but honestly for a "Rail Jam", it looks horrible. none of those features are super trickable. It's all super technical lines and high consequence bail stuff. Rail Jams need stock features to get buck on and maybe one or two crazy creative features. inb4 lots more air/tap tricks very few high difficulty tech tricks...

Just because you can't get buck on big features doesn't mean rail jams should be limited to down bars and dfd boxes. The difficulty level and size of setups need to match the level of skiing. This was amateurs. Wait until finals.

Cannot fucking wait to watch Casabon slay this course...

I hear ya, but there's no one level of skiing. People will be pushing it for sure but you still aren't going to see the peoples top level rail tricks. Just like urban rails, it's a way higher level of feature so you also don't see people's best tricks, its just way crazier because of the high level of features like you said. I Don't see standard rails in rail jams as limiting, I see them as allowing people to literally do the best tricks they've ever done. Overly tech features, while super fun to watch, are more limiting in my opinion but either way, yeah some crazy shit will definitely go down, just unlikely something I've never seen before which also gets me stoked.

OH NO YOU CANT DO A BUNCH OF SWITCH UPS!!!!!

Looks so sick. One of the best rail jam set ups I have seen.

Exactly. People shouldn't be limited to the rails others need to get their big tricks.

It's more impressive to see people throw down new and creative shit on new setups. Not bigger spins and more switchups ona single flat bar. Reaaaaallly leaves a lot of room for progression...

I agree. Different people like seeing different things in rail jams. Some like rails 9 feet off the ground with a giant stall/bonk 20 feet high, all high risk hits.

I'd prefer to see normal sized rails linked together that aren't crazy high offf the ground. You're going to see such a variety of different tricks thrown. I loved last years up rail transition to 2 down rails was it? might have been a dfd can't remember

This thread was made to give thanks to everyone that came. Im a local and there are only like 4 or 5 skiers that are good that live up here. I dont want this thread going in the wrong direction. It was amazing to see so many riders having fun and tearing up Bear. And for the whole " Everythings to big" bullshit.... Just stop. Last year Gus HUCKworthy was doing dubs on the setup, Its called war of the RAILS for a reason. With skiers like , Karl, Wallisch , E-dollo , and B-dogg its perfect.

Im not trying to hate I made this thread just to say thanks and thats how ill end this, Thank you.

I'm just sayin, in my opinion a rail jam should be a contest of who can do the most/best rail tricks. I like to compare it to a game of skate (like in the berrics). Flat ground no features, whatcha got. Don't rely on ur features to get creative. you don't have to huck onto a down rail, you can do some parry shit if you want to and U r creative. not tryin to start an argument, just sayin I prefer watchin John Kutcher slay Rails to Riches over, people doin flips and taps n shit at last years war of rails. tomatoes tamatoes reteeded retarded

Show me a feature where there were flips that were involved that were judged accordingly. The judges only judged the riders on their rail game. In order to get any type of score they had to grind, stall, or tap a feature. Doing flips or rodeo 7's did NOT get judged higher. I was there I talked to Luke V and Tom W about it.

Im bummed i couldnt take a road trip and shred Bear, but Im not too bummed that i missed this comp. It looks more like dope photo/video shoot features than comp features.

I kinda agree with Morsel.

I dont think i'd be able to showcase my ability as a rail jammer on that setup... at least in the small time frame of a 15 minute heat. Not mention i'd get fuckin served

From a spectator's perspective, I'd much rather watch guys hit crazy, burly features and get creative in their lines and approach than to see 20 guys spin on, swap, swap, spin out of a dfd.

I don't hit features on that level or scale so my opinion really ain't shit, but I think that course looks dope.

I recognize that some good riders have said that they overdid it a bit, and that's valid, but I think there's definitely room for an event like this. It's not like there aren't standard railjams with much more traditional, uber trickable features as it is. So, props to Craig and co. for pushing the envelope and asking everyone to step out of their wheelhouse and fuck with some gnarly shit. Even if the contest aspect of the event isn't a huge success, I'm personally fucking pumped to see the edits and shots.

yeah if you're a pussy!

which you're not and i think if you were there, you would have loved it, especially on a warm sunny day like that.

honestly it looks like disaster heaven.

haha, the truth.

this just makes rails to riches look like an outdated shitty setup.

props to CC for bringing some originality and imagination to contest skiing.

I feel that course was really creative and would allow for a lot of tricks. Especially new unusual tricks. And I'm sure Pat did plenty of sick stuff that he would have done at a rail jam with a normal set up.

yes because R2R was at a resort that allowed/had the resources for that size of a set up...

how is it that your name consistently ends up next to the most retarded posts? must be aliens.

I agree with what morel is saying. I thought the set up was a bit too 'air-oriented' for a 'war of rails' competition. Nonetheless it's still a crazy set up and it's something different from the majority of competitions we usually see.

Ideally I would like to see a rail competition set up like Bear mountain's red bull plaza.

this is the logic that blows my mind with kids on NS... where did you read that i agreed with you that R2R was stale and boring? if anything i agree with you that war of rails is progressive and sick. i also love R2R because it's a traditional rail jam where insanely tech shit gets tossed down and more runs are made which also shows consistency in riders which is also insanely impressive to see.

so with that said, i refer to my original point that you're fucking retarded for comparing these two rail jams because they're completely different, regardless of what you think of either jam... and i find it hilarious that you even hate on any event that has that big of a purse for fellow SKIERS that rip a shit harder than you, to win and fund what they love doing.

again, must be those damned aliens!
