Who was judging the Lake louise slopestyle?

yeah holy fock dane fockin stops every fockin trick in his final run. cab 5, to 7, to blunt cork 9 all pimp as fock and actually does shit on the rails. and gets shafted completely, and they have kids on the podium who did a 3, 9 switch 1. im not beakin ryans run the kids sick. but what was with the judging that you screw up that bad. also skiing needs to recognize style instead of just awarding mad props to a boner 1080.

 
yeah seriously i dont mean to thrash on the kid who came first,but i guess i have to, to say what i wanna sayhe did a sketchy 450 witch was pretty much a 540 just taping the rail, 7, 7, boner 10, strait slideand then rob didnt even make it into finals with a perfect 450 and smooth as tricks with legit grabs sash came 2nd with switch 2sev blind 2sev, right 5, cab 7, cab misty 9, 2sev 2sev. and chris slanging a double and not even placing is absolutely fucked. i wanna know who was actually judging?

thats pretty lame that the judging was shit, i was asked to judge, but was filming at sunshine instead (which just built 2 of the best looking table i have ever seen in alberta in the bottom park) but it sounds like they must have a decent park set up at lake louise this year though
 
Well, considering that it was a competition, you can't always have style winning. Sounds like they were looking for spin to win. Props to whoever stomped the double.
 
judging in alberta comps has sucked ass for a long time!!! there should be no suprise here. guys if you want to change it, organize the comp yourself or don't compete because otherwise you will be disappointed. Thats why you don't see me out there anymore! sick of that shitty judging
 
its a shame. I wish these competitions would seriously consider asking people who are actually not retarded to judge.
Maybe judges that remember that style may actual count when you ski, not penis spinning like a top.
 
We should have an alberta version of the 382 crew lol.I bet somebody working at COP would be down for a style-based event.
 
that'd be sick to have an event at COP or something with a pretty heavy focus on style. Although I think style and technicallity tend to be seen as very seperate things I've started seeing tricks more as a combination. that probably makes no sense haha
 
u might want to think before you say stupid things, there wasnt anyone from fresh judging, i was asked to be a judge but was filming at sunshine that day instead, either way, if i were judging i would have looked more at style, but gave highest marks to the guys with best tricks which had the best style (ie pretty much everything that sash does)
 
Hey guys,

This is a sore point for a lot of us coaches as well, so I thought I would toss my 2 cents in...

Sanctioned freestyle events (I don't believe the Lousie event was) use a system that judges 3 basic areas: Air (amplitude) (out of 2), Style (out of 5), and landing (out of 3) then uses a DD multiplier based on the tricks. This system, a variation on the traditional FIS Aerials judging system, but with considerations for modern tricks and variations, seems to work quite well. Sometimes in the middle of the pack there are disputes, but I've been to a bunch of comps this year and the right person always wins.

Every year in Alberta we hold a judging clinic at COP in the fall. I would highly recommend that any of you that are interested in bringing stability to these events take this clinic. That way, even at unsanctioned events, you can have a judging panel that is focused, uses the same grading scale, and understands what to look for in scoring. In sports that are judged, the only way to get consistent, reliable results, is to have guidelines and definitive measures that ensure each judge is on the same page. Everyone has preferences when it comes to style, but usually we can all agree on who threw down the best stuff.
