I'm not sure who was the first, but J. Levinthal was the first pserson to do a rail slide on film. It appeared on the Cover of Freeze in 98'. It was on skiboards though.

as long as there were rails in the park and skiers who had friends who were snowboarders, it was done. im sure the first skier to do a rail was trying to 50 50 it in like 1992
The first photo of a rail slide was Jay Levinthal on skiboards, it was taken in Albany NY and I believe it was taken by Winterton. Cusson was not the first to do a rail slide...skiboarders were doing them before the 1080s came out and before the whole new school thing started. Skiboarders did a lot of things first since it was basically inline on snow...it helped kick start things but thank god it died.
