Who was first to open in the east this year?

Big Boulder PA is blowing right now on Freedom Park. They got upwards of 40 guns and are trying to open for this weekend. If they do open, expect that it will be for park only! stay tuned.

Sunday River opened for halloween and is continuing from the 9th (friday) till the rest of the season.

Is SR going to have a park open tomorrow? Post pics if it does.

That pic is of the little park, Freedom. It is 1 of 3or4 parks at Boulder (not sure of how many this year) plenty of speed for jibs of every type, usually a couple of small 10-20 jumps, log stalls, rails - nothing too technical during midseason on that slope. Our baby park is often better than neighboring expert parks. it is actually one of the most popular parks to hang out in because of the chill factor. It has its own lift too..

i have to say BB has been stepping it up ....ever year they are making one more step to become one of the best PA mountains

Blue mountain needs to step there game up and make some better improvements

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

The wait is over. 10am to 10pm Saturday the 10th - Big Boulder Park Opens!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First on the east Coast. right?

ive never been a big boulder fan, but still, amazing, here i was going to drive to sunday river because im that desperate

pa parks. so hot right now. its gonna be a good year. boulder is open already. sno seems to be keeping planet in business with all of the shit they buy from there. bear has the old tubing area for parks. and blue is putting construction equipment in their parks. money

BB is a MECCA for park and pipe riding on the east. Why do you think all of the big name snowboard companies have been coming out to BB last year and this year... (Tech Nine, Special Blend, Rome, etc). BB is throwing down sooo hard in the park scene. They are smoking everybody in the region. (And arguably throwing down harder than most of the mountains on the East Coast...) I'd liken them to the sickness that is Appalachian Mountain in NC.

Reminder everyone.. The opening is weather permitting, it looks like rain is on the way.

Temps were 20.2 at Boulder last night, so it appears that everyone who turned on the AC and opened thier freezer doors helped make it happen. Keep thinking cold, tonight looks good and maybe if we all think snow.... that the impending forecast.... will be an all snow event!!!!

Boulders topography is certainly conducive to a little geographic micro climate.

THINK SNOW!

Sunday River actually opened today, I'm sure it has some jibs set up. I'll be up there Fri-Mon.

i went up to sunday ri er ver after school today. it was very slowmanmade and i almost tripped over myself a couple times. in their "park" it was just 2 mini jibs, a single barrle and a li' flat down but the pulled those out after i left, maybe some bigger stuff with go in tonight?

the storm in maine sucked..it rained a ton and flooded where i live but im not sure if the storm made it into the mountains. hopefully it did but im not sure

yea I skied at sunday River today and they had 5 trails and three jibs and a small jump. The snow was pretty good and there were all sorts of natural jumps. It was pretty epic

big boulder is like far east, right? im southwest, and we pretty much got nothing right now. we got a few flurries the other day but its supposed to warm up a couple days here so 7 springs isn't blowing yet...
