Who thinks i am stupid for doing this?

I broke my arm trying a switch 180 off a cliff at stowe on feb 24th. I got a metal plate and 9 screws put in on march 7th. Since the surgery i have been able to move it mostly and it feels weak but i could lift my pole so i skied for 6 straight days all last week in the park and learned a few (like 5 or 6) new tricks. Some of my friends thought i was an idiot because of the risk to my arm, and some of them were as stoked as me to see me skiing....what do you think?
 
whatever, mang. it's your arm. if you want to risk fucking it up more, feel free. just don't come crying to us when you totally mess it up.
 
hey man, as said above my its your arm, but you pretty much risked never being able to use you arm again.....so ya your stipud
 
I liked the hidden attempt of bragging, I do. "I totally skiied 6 straight days and learned 6 new tricks, WITH A BROKEN ARM" You're lucky...stupid, but lucky.
 
Maybe you should review how much it cost to get that plate put in your arm, cause i know you're not payin for it. It definatly cost thousands of dollars, you're not stupid, you are RETARTED.
 
Meh... You didn't screw it up any worse, you got more skiing in, youlearned a new trick or two and you probably would've hurt yourself sitting in the sink eating cornchips and masturbating anyway if you weren't on the hill.. so.. Props.
 
i think you are the fucking man. risk is only risky until you get away with it. and you seem fine..so fuck yea. fuck yea.

(now that that's out of the way I have a story to share with you all).

4 years ago my gf broke her wrist snowboarding. she got a cast put on, but she continued to snowboard with the cast... it was one of the cheap plaster casts, and she got it wet while snowboarding. the cast got so wet that she was able to move her wrist around... this caused the break to get real bad so she now needed surgery. she got all metaled up, than they gave her a waterproof cast. she continued to snowboard. now her wrist will never really be 100% ever again - but the snowboarding was good.

(it's a reacuring trend with her - this year she entered a rail comp 2 weeks after she broke her back. She won the competition - with her back still broken in three places).

So yes, you were good to go skiing. and horray for progression.

but i 'do it probably , i once broke my ankle and the next day with a cast on i rode downhill it all worked out .
 
that is definitely a dumb idea. soo what if people give you props and your killin it. you may not be able to use your arm again. good to hear your ok, i just wouldnt try your luck again.
 
im in the same boat man. i have 5 screws and a plate in my thumb and a pin sticking out of my hand and im skiing as soon as i get the pin out
 
if your arm, currently, is fine, then your not dumb, if you re-aggravated it, or it was hurting while you were skiing, then your really dumb...
 
I went skiing a month and a week after rupturing my spleen. First thing I skied to after one groomer? The pipe. I've been riding it ever since. Two months tommorow.
 
Actually, it's only a month and 3 weeks. Props to you with the arm. I learned cork 5s and shit with my spleen, i think you're good to go.
 
I broke my wrist on the first run of the day one time, I just skied without a pole.

I also broke my clavical skiing, I kept skiing for a few months so that I didn't miss a ski trip to Crested Butte.

As far as plates and shit.. When i broke my femur, i was doing front flips on trampolines one legged the second day out of the hospital.
 
Probably. I'm sure that you know you are an idiot.

I know I'm an idiot for skiing with my knee swelling up like it does. But I'm not going to LOSE skiing time without first getting a professional opinion. I would feel even more stupid if I figured out that I could actually be skiing when I wasn't..
 
I skiied all last week at the VT open with a broken foot with a cast on it. I took the liner out of my boot and shoved the cast inside and buckled it up tight. Seemed to work.
 
you know what would be funny is if you like broke it again some how or some shit and the piece of medal came out and severd a main artery then you would just bleed you.
 
its cool that you are out there despite your injury. dont do anything stupid and fuck up your arm more.
