Who takes the High North lane?

I'm pretty interested to see what happens with that lane... rumours are definitely abound about whats happening. I know that John Smart is taking an extra lane this year, which could very well be the HN lane. Pretty sure COC wouldn't split their camp up like that...

It sure is a sweet lane to work with... nice steep pitch at the top for speed, then flattens out so you can build more table-style jumps and then really flattens out at the bottom for rails... Its a goodie and I can't wait to see what the next guy does with it!

i'm going to buy it and not let anyone in......thus the other lanes will become more crowded and there will be no progression this summer on the glacier.

i was just thinking about this last night. i was wondering the same thing. i hope momentum gets its cuz that would be sick!!! high north always had wicked cool stuff set up and thier lane is less steep then the ones that momentum has right now so it would be an amazing addition.

Money loser right there. I wish NS had the money to be able to pay for it, but it's completely unrealistic how much it costs to rent a lane like that. If I won the lottery I'd do it.

What if they make a decent park where you needa special pass (like a camp) .

Kinda like highest level park but more expensive to get the card to have acces to the park during the whole summer lets say an extra hundred dollars for the summer over the glacier pass

this way you can go ski a decent park without paying for coaches and lodging if you dont need them. people staying in whistler for two weeks on a friend couch could ski more then in a camp for a lot cheaper.

I can see a lot of good skier and boarders that cant get a job at a camp that wouldnt mind paying to ski a decent summer park without paying twice as much to get coached by pro when they dont really need them.

It would proably result in a money loss for Whist since they arent getting money from the camp company but they could have a better terrain park and make money directly from the skier instead of campers paying camps who then pay whistler for their lane.

I say it all depends on how they organise their stuff.

would insurance be a lot cheaper for whistler-blackcomb tehn for a camp runby a third party?

at hood its about 1600 per day. No idea about whistler but i wouldn't be surprised if it were about the same.

The reason that Mt. Hood's public park is amazing after a certain time is because of the Burton Comp they have there. After the comp the jumps just stay up. I guess even before that they usually have a pretty decent jump tho.

I think that a summer season pass at Mount Hood is like twice as much as a winter pass just to ski that public park. And lift tickets are $49 I think. And, think of all the camps on the glacier that rent the lanes. That's a lot of money going back to Timberline. The only they they pay for in the summer is snowcat use, and salt (and lots of it).

The HN lane is sick. It would be badass if it turned into a good public park. The public park normally sucks there. If it was legit I would for sure go there over hood. badass town, chill vibe, good park, and way cheaper season pass would be much better than hood.

Do you really think they could get over 1000 people to give them a hundred bucks to make it worth their while? I think they might get 150-200 at most.

well depends on how well they market their stuff.

a lot of campers in camps go there to hit a decent park and pay for coaching even if they dont need/use it.

Last time I checked a lot of people were going to high north just to hit their park, take these customers from high north and the new ones that would simply go there to ski instead of having to poach camp parks to hit decent aprk and it might be a LOT more then 150-200 and dont forget these asiatic snowboarders.

At the same time, doing a good public park dersved by a t-bar woud get a lot of people who travel to hood going to whistler instead.

I know a lot of east coast people that arent going to whistler during the summer would go if they had somethng decent to offer without having to poach camps.

if ns put in donations of like 50 bucks each we could probly pay for it i probly would pay 50 cause i live fairly close to the big w

Doug, why don't you go to your 411 bosses or whatevers, and get them to back a newschoolers camp?

might be a little late to get it going for this summer, but for next summer it would be sick to have an NS camp. it could be interactive as well, like we vote to design park etc.

That would be amazing! But where is anyone gonna actually get enough money to run something like that?

when you paid for a camp like High North, does momentum and camp of champioins let you hit their line if you want to, and vice versa? because if they did they could just make that lane like a collaboration freeride center for all the camps. (i don't think public is too probable, although i would be so stoked if it was)

"We are not drug dealers, we're fund raisers!"

get people to fund raise...or go out and sell raffle tickets and such.

there are plenty of ways to make the money for it although then you have insurance, gotta have dig teams. and every thing that goes into a good park. lets ask Jon to build jumps.

I have heard some pretty convincing specualtions regarding 2 super pros and a camp with a generic name from a reliable source.
