Who saw the "hexo-flip" in freeskier

why cant they just say a god damn double flip, and the spin they do. they are just overcomplicating things that need no complicated names. i hate all of this shit.

you could also just say I grabbed my ski on front of my boot on the outside edge with my opposite hand... but it's easier to say I did a mute grab. It might be kind of annoying to learn new names, but it'll be more convenient eventually. yaddadaimean??

grabs and spins are completely different. we no longer call a 360 a helicopter, nor do we have a name for every different spin. the reason why we have names for grabs is because you can't describe them in few words, but spins you can. i just dont think that every double flip sould have its own name.

i disagree, its not like newschool skiing is gonna turn into aerials, i think pros will be able to throw them without hucking, and if they cant then enough people will trash them until theyre rarely done anymore

i assume your being serious when you say that. if you are i have to agree with you. all the pros who are doing doubles and dumont doing 1260's in the pipe just isnt really that sweet to me. at least the doubles look somewhat smooth. i lost so much respect for dumont after he started doing 1260s and even more for the judges after they rewarded him for it. it looks terribleand its not what skiing needs. we need an emphasis on style, not no-grab huck fests

Double flips are really excessive to me. I am a fan of double corks on snowboards, but the whiskey flips and double rodeos are so fucking weak.

dumonts 12 was a lot less hucked than tanner's sw10 i can tell you that for free.

and most of the big names' double flips you can't say are hucked, coz they do em on enormous, ie, joi sized jumps...

3rd that motion.

I think they look like shit. But that is just me. If people wanna do them, sweet, but I would make rather see a cab-5 that any sort of double flip.

ya, i just haven't really seen pros give that much thought into tricks they can already do, i mean like, sw 7's for say, there are so many options, like, leftside, leftside leading, rightside, rightside leading with so many different styles, and different body positions and grabs.

instead they just worry about what looks the most visually extreme so companies like mountain dew and monster energy drink will give them money...boo!

no, the DJ flif is on the cross add in Freeskier (double misty something) and the hexo is a switch dub back 10. hmmm, isn't it easier to say hexo than switch dub back 10?

Personally, i don't like any of the double flips but Jon's.

Jacob's at the JOI looked shitty.

Let me quote Jon about names as said in an MSP interview:

"Naming tricks is hard. Whatever you come up with is going to be kind of stupid...We gotta name it something because if you start naming stuff like switch rodeo 630 to 450 with like two extra super duper grabs, it's just going to be kind of complicated."

i'm kind of confused as to the direction that skiing is going to go in these upcoming seasons.  I think everyone can agree that if we just keep spinning harder and harder we'll eventually end up like all those inline skater kids.

you've got it.

pros just need to stop playing ssx so much.

and zaser is on the ball. go on, scroll back up and read it.

simple stuff pros think they've tweaked to pieces hasn't even been scratched yet.

its funny how whenever jacob does a double cork 12 (which he has been doing since JOI 2006), its called a double cork 12.

when jon does it, its called DJ flip 12.

interesting.

Check out the hexo and the DJ flip exclusively in "Magic Moves", dropping this fall from Field Productions.

looking at the sequence, its really the only double that is a true double. it really is rodeo 5 to switch rodeo 5. if it was a step up he could land perfect after the first flip, its my favorite double that i have seen.

double cork and dj flip are not the same thing. a dj flip is like a d-spin 7 to flat 5 and a double cork is a double cork. ya dig?
