you know what, neither do i. and for that matter, i have absolutely no problem whatsoever with the sex and porn industry and peoples fetishes and whatever the fuck. i have a very opened mind when it comes to things, but as a fashion student, and a woman, american apparel ads are tasteless and offensive, and deeply objectifying. those pictures don't belong on the website frequented by many rich high school girls. this is a lifestyle being opened to people who aren't old enough to understand it, or responsibility in general, and that is why there is a problem with it. whether or not it is the owners art or personal taste, it's still ever so inappropriate to be plastered all over the city. i take the metro, see store walls, read newspapers, and billboards and all i see its t&a and in an ideal world without clothing, fat, and insecurity, maybe this wouldn't fucking matter. but for fucks sake. you know, and someone always throws a comment about how ugly girls are jealous of pretty girls because they can be naked, but that's complete bullshit. i know a lot of pretty girls who can't stand it. and if you want to be someone's toy, maybe you can at least join the porn industry and get off while you're at it. there's a time and place for everything.
 
I personally find that the AA models seem to be a lot less stereotypically attractive than most models you see for other ads... sure theyre wearing less clothes... but theyre not caked in makeup nor do they look like supermodels...

who cares if they're a bit naked? its the same as an add for a bra or whatever.
 
Yeah word. Shit's starting to get out of control. Have you seen what it's like in Britain? Freakin jaw dropping. You literally go to a newspaper stand, buy the daily sun, and it's not only news, but news integrated with massive amounts of topless woman.

It's fawking weird.

But really, if you look at the big picture with media (mainstream), it's seeming to come down to the point where it's only there to fuck with everyone's heads. And it sure is accomplishing this.
 
it's different in europe. over there, not being ashamed of the human body is commonplace. here, if somebody's nipple falls out it's a tragedy, because nakedness is so taboo that it's associated with all of the other taboo stuff. in europe, a kid sees a naked woman and goes, "oh, a naked woman." in north america, a kid sees a naked woman and thinks of everything else their parents told them was off limits.
