I was just wondering who all rides center mounted skis and all, cause i see most pros these days riden them and all i was just wondering who all does

i ride centered madtrix (older ones) and i love em, no problems with carving, i can go super fast and still hold a good turn. and the switch riding is nice, but i had the choice to remount them, i might mount then a 2-3 cm back.

my friend has fujies mounted at the 'core center' and i've ridden them and they ride the same as my centered mt's

my CR Johnsons are true centered, carving is a little unstable, but you can spin 3's of the smallest bumps... so it's fuuunnn, obv park&pipe rule center

i have center mounted skogens and they are sik everywhere. i just got my pistols mounted at +1, and they have less tail!! wtf?

I ride the reactors on my Chronics...but I have the heal piece all the way back and then the toe adjust for boot length...they ski godd everywhere and are the nicest ski for skiing switch I have ever used

i do , but in the powpow i did the submarine... so if you wanna do big moutain dont get them center

 
Skibum, Pistols are meant to be used as an all-mountain ski, and so the recommended mounting point is in the right area, so that the skier can take advantage of a longer tip. Line has a pretty progressive mount too. +1 cm is only one cm, look on the side of your ski, its not that much.

1 pair with a little further back so the tips stay above the pow, then my shorter 1260s placed in the middle specifically for park.

I have my new Ar5's mounted at the reccomended line which is back from center, but interestingly i put them on a balance thing and found out that they are alomst perfectly balanced. in other words the front and back weight about the exact same because the heel piece is heavier. so in terms of spinning you get the best by mounting the Ar5's at the reccomended line. i dont know if htat made sense but whatever

 
it depends on how much park you ride countered with how much all mtn...

my laroses are center but i wish i got them -1 or -2 but its all good they ski fine and stuff just feel huge like my tail is biger then my tip even though there equal

My Tanner Halls are almost true center mounted... i moved the suggested point up 3 cm so its 1 cm back from true center so it looks like there more tail than tip

seeing as they all say its perfect for everything when its not, not much at all. Have you tried skiing REAL STEEPS (not the landing of your park jumps) on skis that are center mounted? you gotta lean way backcause of all that tail.

but i guess when they say its perfect for everything, they mean perfect for everything inside the park (rails, jumps, 1/2 pipe)

It's all about what you're going to be doing. There's a formula:

park/pipe=center

powder/steeps/etc.=back

Find a happy medium if you don't do purely any one type of skiing on the skis. Personally, I like having one pair further back that has edges for everything but park and a more centermounted pair for park.

Have you ever seen a little kid slide back down the inrun of a kicker without going over? This is why parents shouldn't dump their kids off anywhere near the park...
 
^thats great if you got the dough for 2 pairs of skis but if yeah dont, mount em +2 or +3 from the regualr mounting point so you dont sour your ski experience outside the park

yea he IS right cause i pretty much ONLY ski park because i live on the east coast, but when i ski out of the park i can barely ski... i went off about a 10 foot cliff at tremblant today and was skiing away fast because of the steep downslope and there was a little bit off powder and i was leaning WAY back and my tips still caught and i did a somersault and my shins ended up killing after

mine are 2.5 cm back, but they r fujees so they still butter real well, i also need to ski pow on them so i compromised. next yr hopefully i will have one pair for park and one for pow.

Its all about preference... like if you ski like 90% park and higher you would want to get your skis true center mounted or close to true center... if you ski 50% park you might want to get it moved up a few centemetres from alpine and if you ski below 50% park you'd probably want to have it set to alpine

If the ski is long enough, a center mount won't impact as much as you think.

Ive got the 186 Liberty Reapers 2cm from true center(Which is pretty close to center mount anyway), and they ride fine at high speeds on the groomers, and work wonders in the powder.
