Who remember Goldeneye 007 on N64?

It was fun except when my brother played as fkn Oddjob, He's so cheap because of how short he is
 
even kids who are like 12-15 would have missed out on it's glory days. Disturbing as it is, 12 years ago n64 wasn't even the current generation of console.

it's funny actually that goldeneye became so huge, even though it only had about 3 years before the game and console were outdated.
 
It was the first big first person shooter. Goldeneye revolutionized gaming. OGs of anything will develop a big cult following.

I played the game a ton when i was little. I cant stand it now though.
 
Does anyone remember the fuckin KF7 Soviet that looked like a colored pencil? I called it "The pencil gun" when i was 10 haha.

we used to play no oddjob all the time.

occasionally play slappers only and just run around the maps giving eachother handjobs.
 
My friend came over yesterday and told me that he was playing Goldeneye on N64 before he came over. I was jealous. I owned it up until 3 years ago or so - gave it to my friends so their kids could have it.

They remade it for the Xbox a year or so ago, didn't they? Apparently it's crap? who knows.

 
we played that snow map with the nice round tunnels so fucking often. we had three controllers and played 3 vs 1 computer bimbo. really dont remember too much why this setup was so much fun (maybe it was about who is the fuckhead that gets killed first), but countless hours were wasted.

wasnt my n64, i had a PSX back in the day and we played at a buddies house during summer break. fun times, had to be like 2000 or so
 
it's not that it's crap, it's just horribly outdated. You can't just release the same game on a new console more than a decade later and expect people to love it.
 
This game's shitty graphics made me think the word ammo was actually ammd, and I sounded like an idiot talking from like 1st grade through 5th grade.
 
I am probably the worst Goldeneye player of all time, but man that game was fun to get incessantly murdered at. Didn't they remake it for Wii a few years ago?
 
Oh I realize this but at 12 most kids who are gamers will probably have heard of it and taken a look at it.

Kinda like with people around my age it's Doom/Wolfenstein.

false. Wolfenstein 3D is the first big first person shooter and revolutionized gaming far more than goldeneye
 
well, I had a PS2 that I didn't play anymore, Xbox 360 that I do play and the N64 which was good for GoldenEye and that's about it. Had a bunch of other games for it but didn't really play any of them so I gave the system and games to a better home.
 
Can't forget Conker's Bad Fur Day. My friends and I spent days on end playing the Dinosaur multiplayer and CTF.
 
Doom came out at the same time and was more popular and pretty much the same format.

Neither developed a following like goldeneye
 
We used to have rocket launcher and grenade launcher only battles on this one map. I don't remember the name of it. It had the helicopter launch pad outside when you went up the stairs.
 
I was gonna say doom but he might be right about wolf3d. Anyway for consoles id agree goldeneye brought multiplayer fps to the mainsteam. Quake was way better though
 
racked up so many hours on this back in the day, huge part of my childhood.

did anyone here play perfect dark? i was addicted to that too for soooo long
 
goldeneye, perfect dark, tony hawks pro skater, tony hawks pro skater 2, san francisco rush, san francisco rush 2049, mario kart, mario party, kobe bryant in NBA courtside, 1080 snowboarding....

I think I might have to go dust off my N64 and hook it up. I'd also like to take this opportunity to claim over 1,000,000 points on a 2 minute session on school 2 on tony hawks pro skater 2 without any cheat codes. probably one of the better accomplishments of my life haha.
