Hey guys i was looking into ski boats and i was just wondering which of you out there own any or just have ones that you like more than others? personally i like ski centurion bu what about y'all

Not being able to speak is not the same as not speaking. You seem as if you like to talk. I like to let people talk who like to talk. It makes it easier to find out how full of shit they are.
 
Ive got some seadoo POS shit...The challengerX I think its called. Its ok but 1)its a jet and 2) Its light as hell cuz its a jet, so we dont really get nice wake from it.

 
centruions suck........1) they have a bow that is really low and actually tips down, so its no good in choopy water and you CANT take it in tthe ocean.....2) waty to much money$$$$$$ you pay alot for the name

 
i'm thinkin i like my dads boat...it's a waterski boat...way old, completely restored, hella nice...flat bottom v-drive, goes pretty damn fast.

Our family has a 17 foot whaler, not anything special but it does the job... The best boats for wakeboarding are not actual ski boats, but like 35 foot sea rays... find a cruiser that size, and as long as its got good enough acceleration to get you up its perfect... such a big wake, sooo crazy.

We have a 98' Reinell, which isn't that great, but with a tower and a few fatties, you can get a decent wake. X-Stars are where it's at though (I love those boats...). I'd go with a mastercraft, a Supra, or a nautique for a good boat(but hella expensive).

Wakeboarding is so fun...de-winterized my boat yesterday =)

The Mastercraft you want for wakeboarding is called an X Star or go with a Super Air Nautiques.

I prefer the Nautiques.

But both kick ass and are top of the line.

 
uh i wakeboard (but mostly water-ski) and i have a kind of all-around boat a LOT less expensive than wakeboarding boats, an when i tried at friend's in his akeboard boat there was like no difference. I saved so much money...

I was thinking... man my name is ugly! Canadian Ski God? come on! i suck at skiing!
 
after you start doing more technical tricks, you need the better equipment like ropes and bigger wake, which can be provided by a wakeboard boat, or some fatties, if you have to.

my parents have a malibu wakesetter, i like it alot, you can weigh it down just right, and get a huge wake, or take it all out and it is still really good for waterskiing, and it rides really smooth in shitty water. my only complaint is the stock stereo isnt real loud, but perfect pass, a tower, and some fat sacks are a must

the super air nautiques team edition boat is used for wakestock if im correct...ill boat for sure, according to their slogan they create a 'tsunami-sized wake', and its true, the wake is massive.

we should be getting a boat in a few days.

It was pretty cool, we rented a houseboat this last weekend and the boat docked next to us was throwing a huge party. We go on there and it turns out to be a huge group of pro wakeboarders, shane murray (sp?) was out there among other people. pretty sick

nautiques and malibus are NICE boats.. but u cant beat a fully loaded Mastercraft X-10 or X-star hell ID even settel for an X-9... Dammit now i wanna wakeboard!@

We got a Malibu Sunsetter LXI, its a couple of years old now but its good allround for wakeboarding and skiing. The Wedge helps make the wake more robust but you need to out some fatsacks in the back or extra weight to beef it up some more.

 
I think ski/wakeboard boats are now all pretty much the same and around the same price, a bit like snow skis have become I guess, it's all pretty standard these days. Anyone here tried wakeskating, is it like wakeboarding or whats the deal?

 
it's like a board with no bindings and you do the same stuff as on a skateboard....saw my friend derrick do it once...looked pretty sketchy.

Lebbo is somewhat right, the majority of the boats are pretty similar, but its the ballast, lead, and water sacks that make the difference. its all about having the perfect wake.

I went wakeboarding today in my friends ski nautique, and it sucked cause we have no phat sacs so the wake was tiinnnyyy (where's Sam when we need him!?). oh well, we're buying a waterbed mattress to put in the back of the boat...hehehe. so YES! it does friggen matter if you have a wakeboard boat with the ballast systems and perfect pass. At least get some fat people to ride in the back or else you're just being pulled by a boat...very unfun.

I think the new Maibu's have a system where you can suck water into the hull to make a better wake (you could see the water being pumped out when they finished). I saw one during the summer but it was going to waste because they were trying to teach some begginer, so it probably just made it harder for them.

Yeah I haven't tried wakeskating but it looks kind of pointless from the point of view that you can do way better tricks on a normal wakeboard with less of a worry about falling off (coz you got bindings!)

malibus are crazy...this guy my dad knows sells them and is almost a pro wakeboarder (cept he had to get surgery so he doesn't compete any more). but ya, he has like 4 boats...like 2 supras (he used to sell those) a malibu, and some other speed boat just for fun. Plus he lives by the river. But he's taken me out in his boat and taught me some tricks. With wakes that big, you can seriously just run into it and fly real high up in the air, which is crazy, but def not fun for a beginner learing to go over the wake.
