yeah for sure skibum, I paddle the ottawa a few times a year, i need to get up there more often, we should go hit it up.

i love paddling, but I live in Toronto so I don't get to do it too much. I go to the Gull sometimes and I paddled the Ottawa last year, but its all mad far. After being on the Ottawa I started to consider spending a summer as a rafting guide, anyone know how that is?

if you get a good company like esprit or something it can rock, but if you get a shitty company like Winderness Tours, you'll bring home 1000 after a summer. Thats because they make you pay for food and housing and its rediculous. Plus you need to get your SRTs (Swift water Rescue Training) which is a few hundred. I recommend tryng to find a job on a farm near the rapids, like beachburg area.

yeah i know some people who worked for esprit and loved it.. dont work for WT cause they are all assholes, but yeah the farm idea would be sick... hope fully this summer once I can drive I will get to paddle alot more, i might also work a couple weeks at palmer rapids over the summer.

i ride alittle white water, but i cant play or anything, and only ride class 3+'s and below.

yea, i let my friends watch sometimes when they get bored. ive rented out some bleachers for them to sit in actually, im thinking of making big foam hands with 'no jaime! not in there!' written on them.

I live in NC and paddle. Around here we have all sorts of fun creeks, Wilsons Creek, the Green, the Watauga, Elk River...fun stuff.

 
I paddle 3-4 days a week in the summer.

I paddle in Ontario... open boat now... used to kayak... so does Jodi on here.... Madawaska, Skootamatta, etc... mostly fun little 1-2 day trips... Creeks will be running soon...

Holla, i live in ottawa in the summer and should be paddling 2-3 times a week. I paddle a Liquid Logic Vision 56 C1.

I had no idea so many people on here paddled, thats sweet though, definatlye should get the who ns paddling crew on the ottawa sometime this summer for a couple days.

It is a lot like skiing in the fact that you have the freestyle aspct, river running aspect, slalom aspect, and cliff aspects. It's really cool.

There's so much innovation going on too with new aerial shit. It's unbelievable how they can just pop on the wave and flip and shit. It's definitely a stylie sport. I'm paddling a LL Skip, although I dont know if I'm gonna be able to cram my fat ass in it come this spring. I hope I can, cause I dont have the money for a new one.

there's alot of sweet boats out there, im going from a kingpin to a LL vision, kingpin is a great all round boat. i surf more wave then ride holes so the vision will be better, hopefully i can tap into some of the arial stuff ;) I just learned donkey flips at the end of the season, i can't wait to start paddling again, should be a sweet season espically with the new boat!

Also keep your ears peeled for a new Whitewater driven streetwear company dropping sometime this summer/fall based out of Ottawa.

ive been in an EZ since i started a few years ago. i dont get to go that many times in a summer but im really starting to enjoy the freestyle aspect. definitely intend to hit up the ottawa this summer, if not work there. playing at Garburator was some of the most fun ive had on water or skis. thatd be sick to get together some NS paddlers
