Everyone saying he ruined his skis.. have you ever skied on grass before? Sure he probably hit a few rocks but I doubt he did any severe damage.

seriously, did anyone see or hear him hit a sheer rock that would've messed his skis up? no, just grass and he had mrs than enough mobility to show that he did not hit anything bad.

Despite what many people seem to think, bases are actually damn tough. I ski on grass at the bottom of my resort all the time at this time of year, and hardly a single scratch on the bases.

Also, when I ski over most rocks and hear that heart-wrenching scrape that all of us surely despise, I check only to find that either nothing, or only really minor damage has been inflicted that can easily be fixed with a single wax. This is pretty weird cause I have the al dente's, and Ive heard a ton of bitching about them on this site haha.

Although me season is over, I can't quite accept it yet so I was out doing a similar thing several days ago, except in my backyard. Take off from flat and standing still, land on the down grade and ride out. Pretty fun.

Here's a pic:

a similar thing
to going 40 down a mostly dirt lift line to massive straight air to dirt, then come to cruising stop on a well covered groomer.
