This is very good news. I know that Big Boulder hosted one this year. This camp will allow groomer and park managers to work together to discuss and practice building better parks on the East Coast.

Please read below.

SAM Magazine—Woodbury, Conn., April 24, 2008—For the past six years,

Cutters Camp has hosted terrain park builders each May at Timberline,

on Mt Hood, Ore., for a week of hands-on, educational experiences. Now,

in response to increasing demand, SAM Magazine and Peak Resorts are

pleased to announce that Mount Snow will be the location of a second,

Eastern Cutters Camp in April 2009.

Cutters Camp was created to open dialogue on freestyle terrain and

provide a resource where the front line employees could get together

and discuss safety, design, construction, operations and management of

their parks.
In the past couple of years, demand has increased for the

camp and it became clear that a second venue in the East was needed.

A big part of Cutters has always been the sharing of information that

goes on between the 50+ resorts that gather each spring at Timberline.

The camp is structured on the belief that whatever your budget,

machinery or snow conditions, the key to a safe and successful park is

to have knowledgeable, well trained staff. Adding a separate Eastern

venue will allow more resorts to take part in this collective

experience.

"We are very excited to be partnering with SAM Magazine on a Cutters

Camp East venue. We at Peak Resorts feel like Cutters Camp is a great

program and have been able to send many of our park staff members to

Timberline in the past. Our staff has found Cutters to be

informational, educational, and a truly hands on-experience in park

building. We are happy to be a part of expanding this event into the

East at Mount Snow," said Jesse Boyd, VP Operations, Peak Resorts.

"The time is right to have both eastern and western Cutters Camps,"

added SAM Associate Publisher Olivia Rowan. "Educating our park staff

is the single most important thing we can do for our parks. Sharing

best practices has always been the goal of Cutters Camp."

The programs will be the same for both locations and tap some of the

same industry experts as well as look to work with new ones. The camp

at Timberline Lodge offers a one-of-a-kind location on Mt Hood, open

year-round with a team committed to being on the cutting edge of

freestyle terrain development. The camp at Mount Snow will offer a

central northeast location with the same level of dedication to

freestyle terrain, with 5 parks, a superpipe and the snowmaking and

machine resources to guarantee a quality program on and off the hill.

just kidding but it could all improve - someone from killy should def be there because its not that far and will def be worth it with all the improvements they are planning

oo soo sick, e-mail sent to my manager already... i mentioned the original cutters camp and they were interested, this will be even better having it this much closer.

all peak resorts have done is good shit, they took mt snow from asc which had fucked it over and reinvented the mountain i give them mad props and now with this they just took it to a new level

So much positive feedback from the other Peak Resorts! I have heard that they all are doing well with Ticket sales. Think they are onto something? They brought all their groomers to Big Boulder this spring for thier own Cutters Camp and now they are inviting others to come. Here are all the Peak Resorts.

that's so sick... i can personally vouch for big boulder having a ridiculously nice and well manicured park, i shot through on a random weekend and it was prime... can't wait to see what this program brings next year.
