When people spend that much on a bike there is someting wrong. I have a Motiv Vortex, it ran me 250 it's a full suspension bike and has about 3-4 inches of travel. It is a great bike and I've not had a single problem with it. I've dropped 8 footers and rode away clean on it. For the price there is nothing that compares. And what happens when it does break? Well since costco is such a good company they will give me my money back no questions asked.

i have a cannondale f500. i do mostly cross-country. there are some sick trails by my house. my favorite trip is 32 miles and 1800 vertical feet. it's a nice challenge

i got a 2003 bullit with s7 and everything on the bike is custom cause i built it peice by peice. also got a 2002 250w/2000 4' z3 for dickin around on.

 
i bmx, mtn bikings alright but too expensive and theres no mtns that close, and u can bmx all year mtn bikings for summer

I MB! it is hella fun. almost as good as skiing! have any of you been up Hunter Creek, in Aspen? that is a good place although it gets flat.

I have a Treck 4500. I think it was $440. It's great. I just wish I could get a full suspension bike.

you see I realize I could get a full suspension bike for that but you know what, that would be really shitty. I don't care what your opnions are on that it would be a shitty bike. that is all there is to it!

i broke my old bike, so i ride my friends k2zed with judys and disks, it ok, but it works for the time being, until i get enuff cash to buy a kona roast, and the biggest ive done on the k2 is a 15ft ladder drop, and rode out clean, GO HARDTAIL!

ya i got shin dents, there's an awesome mtb scene here in calgary, you've got kicking horse in the summer and mount 7 and then kananaskis and not to mention cop

Yeah I used to, but this year I moved and my bike is shit, and I can't ride it cause I'm weak. But check this out, I have without a doubt the best rear wheel set up ever: Mavic D521 w/ flat spot, a regular inner tube with three, yes three, old inner tubes cut up and around to keep it warm in those frosty Ontario chills. And best of all, a three year old 2.35 Intense DH tire (50 duro) that's the burliest fucking slick you've EVER seen. All at around 60psi.

Word. I bike, got an older specialized ground control fsr. 4.8in. travel in the back, which is ok, but still not much. The whole bike is worth about $1400 if i were to sell it today.

Mountain biking is sick, until you start having to do slave labo...uh, I mean work for a bikeshop because you're breaking hundreds of dollars worth of stuff every month, or week. Shit, skiing is cheaper than mountain biking, so that should tell you how much mountain biking cost me. 2 bikes: Specialized stumpjumper, currently set up as a weird commuter/road/ligh mountain bike, but will get set up back to XC spec soon, and a brodie energy, set up as DJ/'freeride' hardtail. They're both beat to shit, and I need at least one new bike.

just got a 2002 specialized enduro comp, well worth the money i shelled out. i'm starting to get into trials and it's a great way to pass the time when i'm not skiing in the wintertime

just orderd my 2003 kona Stinky primo and 2003 chute. its sick my local shop put me on the grass roots program so i can get bikes for nutten. i got both these for under 2 g's.

I ride a Scwhinn Homegrown w/ a mars c. 21 lbs it rocks for xc. I need to get a freeride bike though.

I really like these high speed 6 man quads
 
If your going to DH or freeride you really shouldn't get XTR, get XT or LX, lot cheaper and will work just as good for DH and freeride, you dont need to save those few grams for like an extra couple hundred bucks. But ya, I mountain bike, I love it, best thing to do in the summer.

 
who mountainbikes? some hot guy that i met at a gas station yesterday during the blizzard does. he was so cute and is probably good at such sports, but i have better skis than him...

yep - lbf's are way cooler than pocketrockets

 
I'm punking out this year and buying a Norco 250. Simple, cheap, not alot of shit to break. Single speed is the way to go. You know it.

I ride XC, race a bit too... I have a 2000 Jamis eureka, mostly original except for Mars comp coil fork and a new saddle, reliable bike.

I have a konda fire mtn, with marzochis in the front, and avid disc breaks. Plus i upgraded almost everything this year, cant wait to ride it!
