thinking about moving there after this final year of school, looking to move into the breck area.

anyone around there who could give me insights on apartment costs or anything?

i'm not sure if this is reasonable or nice but i found an apartment with 1bedroom/1bath for $750 a month at Breckenridge Terrace.

any help will be plus karma!

My brother lives on red feather lane in breck. At the end of this month i'll be moving out with him. I'll give him a ring when my phone isnt dead and get some numbers

i live in colorado!!

just kidding. i live in maine. i ski with you at sunday river. its not that great.

The house my brother has is on redfeather lane, which is like a 3 minute walk to the bottom of peak 10.

Its three bedrooms, 2 baths, but the upstairs bedroom is the entire upstairs with their own bathroom. It has a hottub and a pretty legit kitchen, a big fireplace, and high ceilings.

With 3 people paying rent it comes to 585/mo. Then with utilities its around the upper 600's

Theres four people there now and that lowers the price pretty well

^ keep in mind that your brother alex got quite possibly one of the BEST DEALS in breck. rent like that is possible, but the chances of getting a place that nice in breck are rare. So hes finally moving out eh? interestin i need to talk to em.

yeah i know they got a steal.

Its one or the other, if another person moves out, i'm moving in.

If not, we're moving to tahoe

I do!!! sking's dope here but finding a place to live can be expensive and difficult however the deal you said sounds good

I live in colorado. You planning on bumming it or working? Its like $400/month if you work for the ski area. Theres a walmart :P

^ vail resorts sucks a fat dick...as for living in summit, its expensive just like any ski town, but $750 a month is really good actually...nice.

they are just the king of corporate bullshit, along with intrawest. unfortunately, those two companies pretty much own most of the good resorts in colorado. if you work for them, expect mediocre pay, and long hours, with few if any benefits. its just the way it is with big corporations these days i guess. all that is assuming that you dont have a degree that is helpfull to them, because then you can get something done. im sorry if i sound angry, but my home mountain has always been owned by big corporations and it blows.

in the last 3years ive worked for intrawest and in the last year i was recently employed for Vail resorts. first of all, my job was quite possibly one of the best jobs ive ever had to it all depends on WHAT TYPE of job u have. I was a bellperson at the Mountain Thunder Lodge in Breckenridge that is owned by Vail Resorts. I got a free 6 mountain pass, vouchers for friends and A lot of nite shifts and decent pay for sure.-actually great pay cuz of tips. awesome work environment and awesome people. dont let the corporate bullshit and their "sucking dick" get to you because face people for many of us we have no choice but to work for the resort because its the only option and we get a free pass. Yes there has been some shit that hasnt worked out for me but overall i have been saftised with both corporations. Vail resorts is def more laid back simply because it is in colorado and Intrawest resort i worked at is in Vermont. Put up with it and dont let it get to you- thats it. The people that you work with are going to be awesome because they are there for the same reasons you are- to have fun, live life to the fullest, and ride as much as possible.

oh yeah and vail resorts has better benefits for seaonal employees- first season u get health insurance at vail resorts ( its not that great but its better then nothing ) however at intrawest ( now this maybe be different because i worked for intrawest in the summer at the golf course ) you DO NO GET health insurance until your SECOND sseason being a seasonal employee., however it seems a little better then vail resorts.

really good points, and im not saying that all of it sucks. like i said, im probably just mad because i live in steamboat where we always get fucked...my mom has worked for steamboat for 20 years and it was decent with ASC, but when intrawest came, it really became straight corporate (more expensive health insurance, less comp tickets, etc). Sure, there are good jobs out there and it sounds like you found a good one. When i talk about the shitty jobs, im thinking more of the people that i know (ie ticket sellers, ski instructors, lifties, cafeteria people). those jobs suck in general, but they are forced to do them to get a ski pass. (that being the only benefit)

i think i just hate intrawest because they might not build a park at all this year. sorry about the ranting, guys.

oh, and aspendukes, im sure you can find a good job with vail resorts, ive just heard some bad things and i was pissed off at intrawest for maybe not building a park, so i was in a hating mood. sorry about that:D

585 each?

or total?

but anyways im planning on moving out there to work as much as possible, so i coudl possibly just ski during the winter,

but it sounds like getting a job at vail would be pretty sweet, cause i could get a free pass, maybe work nights and still have plently of time to ski
