Who likes emo?

ya emo is good but i dont really like emo core, its better with more pop-punk like taking back sunday, midtown, the starting line, yellowcard, hot rod circuit, saves the day, finch, the used, brand new, rufio, the early november, thursday,

if you like any of these bands check out the songs 'at your funeral' by saves the day

ya just because i like emo doesnt mean i dont like other stuff too. i like anti flag so just try to keep an open mind. my music tatse is constantly evolving so who knows you might like sometime

 
bands like finch and taking back sunday are not emo, they are more punk. bands like dashboard, juliana theory, hey mercedes, brandston.. those are real emo..get it right

taking back sunday is emocore and they're definately emo. 'you could slit my throat, and with my one last gasping breath i'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt' is one of the most emo lines ever. they fucking rock. went and saw them last night. i'm still in awe. yah, hardcore punk bands also rock, but make your own thread if you want to talk about them.

since no one can define it, fuck the term emo. find a new term. it's too broad. now straight edge, that sucks. 'hey guys, i don't drink or smoke so i'm gonna beat up people who have fun drinking and smoking.' vigilante straight edge, of course i dont care if you just don't drink and smoke just don't shove it on other people and go around with all your Xs all out and your little sXe watches from hot topic. also, it's dashboard wannabes that ruin the scene, flooding it with corporate greed and diluting any message that used to come across in what was the punk scene, but now any decent hardcore band has to put a pop punk band on the ticket just to get by, and then there's a wall of 15 year old girls in the front that bitch and moan if they get hit....basically the term emo is overplayed, any music should be emotional, so don't use it to describe pop punk/indie/and hardcore in the same sentence. hell. don't use it. after all, seventeen magazine (or somethin like that) had an article about 'how to be emo'. great.

i know i shouldn't post after that post because that pretty much sums it all up. if you like that kind of music, like it because you like it, not because you want to jump on the bandwagon with your 'bleeding' heart pinned on your sleeve.

yeah i know ppl are jumping all over the emo scene, its bittersweet i guess..juliana theory is gonna get huge, i can feel it..and im happy for them. As long as indie/alternative bands keep making good music..bands like sense field, rubyhorse, marvelous 3...thats great music that isnt getting recognized as much, its somewhat overlooked, but its right up there next to emo stuff that is my fav music..

There's a difference between being proud to be straight edge and being a complete asshole about it. There's nothing wrong with wearing x watches, or straight edge shirts. The straight edge is a positive lifestyle and a few retards ruin its reputation. You shouldn't be so ignorant about it and you should realize that most sxe kids around today are open-minded.
