Meh, its like those kids who can throw down at the skatepark on snake boards, its cool but its still snake boarding and not skateboarding, why cant you just keep it simple and get good at skateboarding?

Hey, Im not saying Snakeboarding doesnt look cool but its like a lower alternative.

Snakeboarding is for people who are too weird to skate

TeleSkis is for the people who are too weird to ski normally.

Just my two cents.
 
Alpine: Lift access skiing, hike for great turns
Tele: Lift access skiing, skin for great turns.
Skinning is easier, and you can go anywhere that an Alpiner can go... so why not tele?
 
agreed with the snakeboarding, but tele skiing can actually be waaay harder than normal skiing. it's a good alternative for someone who gets bored with skiing or wants a different challenge or something
 
I know what you mean, some things are a bit kooky like micro scootering for example and it makes you think why didn't they just get good at something people respect a bit more or that other people do? I don't think this is a problem with tele skiing though, I think its quite well respected, people are brought up tele skiing and it can have its advantages. I don't imagine many people will weigh up the options of what to start doing and choose it over alpine skiing or snowboarding except from like mountaineers or something but in this instance I don't agree that tele skiing is a kooky thing to do, more different for a reason.
 
yeah id def agree, i dont think of tele as that weird alternative to alpine skiing, i generally respect someone who i see killing in on teles way higher than someone killing it on alpine skis. i mean obviously it depends on the situation, but i feel like teleing is just another thing to do, not a lower alternative for people who cant ski

Are you dumbshits even aware that tele skiing was around and practical a LONG time before apline sking was anything? It was born out of the necessity of skiing CC and having to descend steep shit.

Alpine skiing serves n practical purpose except to be extremey fun. Tele actually has a practical purpose in addition to looking ill when done well.

Please go give yourself lots of paper cuts and hop in a bathtub full of lemon juice.
 
Why do you even care? Did a telemarker sleep with your mother or something? Tele skiing is sick and it takes a lot of skills. I don't even understand this type of uninformed judgment. Tele skiing has been around for centuries. I'm pretty sure recreational downhill skiing actually evolved from telemarking (and even earlier, nordic).
 
Skateboarding and snakeboarding is more like skis and snowblades.

Tele skiing has been around for a long time and is a well respected sport with deep roots.

 
exactly, at a certain point it stops. teleing is sick, whoever it was saying its like snake boarding, we can hit rails and boxes and everything else the same way you can. the pics posted are just tele skiers taking it to a new level. The only difference between normal and tele skiing is that it is harder. you tube ty dayberry

what the hell are you guys talking about?

tele skiing is absolutely NOT a 'lower alternative' to alpine skis. in my opinion, tele skiing takes way more skill and is way more ill . if i had a pair of tele boots and bindings i would mount them up and shred the hell out of it
 
That's so sick.

I've always wanted to try tele skiing, it looks like a lot of fun and something new to do. But cash is tight. I'm sure I'll have these same bindings, boots, and skis until they break. I wish I could find somewhere where you can rent them here in Wisconsin.

Im just saying, If I was in the park and a tele skier rocked up, I would definitely laugh, regardless of how good he is.

Thats just my preferance.

Props to tele skiers and all, but why would "it's harder" be a valid reason to do something? That's like saying - quit being a bitch and try skiing blindfolded all season. That would be harder too.
I like playing around on tele gear sometimes, but not because "it's harder". I like it because it's a different sensation and it can be fun to change things up sometimes.
 
thats like saying that you laugh at an automatic car compared to a stick. both do the same thing, they just use a different method to do it
