Who learned to ski on straight skis?

i forgot to mention that the park was a SNOWBOARD PARK, dont know if people remember the days when parks were for snowboarders only, and they had just a half pipe that was cut but not groomed ontop so it was super gnar and then one jump, we would charge down then cut into the woods so we didnt get our passes pulled for going down a snowboarder only run

i learned on straight skis but started using carving skis when i was like 5

I don't know what I learned on, but they were definitely straight. My first pair of skis where my great uncles 185 Blizzards when I was 10 or 11. I think I learned threes with those.

I was just going to ask if anybody remembered the snowboard only runs.... terrain parks, half pipes, etc.
Then for a while they would let skiers into the half pipe only (not the park) on sunday afternoons only. Then it moved to the park also. Then it was all sunday. and then full time.
