Who landed the first ever cork 7?

D-spins aren't corks, they're inverted. And Mike Douglas did the first one, which is why it's called the D spin.

Moseley popularized the "dinner roll" which was a cork 7. I could be wrong, but I think Evan Raps did it before him though.

I was gonna say, finding the first cork 7 is gonna be tough since it’s such an old trick and of course came in other forms years before (it’s just a back full but corked less)

but if I had to hazard a guess I’d say Evan raps or one of the new Canadian Air Force guys were among the “first”

I'd bet a lot of it came from a combo the no inverts rule in mogul comps and snowboarding. Mogul tricks were pretty stale by the 90's (which is why you had guys doing quad shiftys and bs like that) and thankfully some people like the NCAF and Johnny Mosely started to try and change things up doing grabs and off axis spins instead of just perfecting there daffy-twister-spreads.

off axis spins have been around for a while though, if you watch clips of ed lincoln doing his OG Lincoln Loops in the 70's they almost look like a Rodeo/Flat 3, plus heres a misty 7 at 9:40 in this video

Well rick wroblewski (sp) did what he called a risky flip in like 2000 or so, maybe even earlier. That was a d7 into a backy, very very similar to today’s dub 10s. But dubs weren’t very in vogue at that point and for the few years after it. Then mike Wilson did his Wilson flip a few years later (I wanna say 2004 or 05) which is a dub 10, again very sick but wasn’t “in”

then jon Olsson started doing kangaroo flips and from there dubs became trendy again and soon after the sw dub 10, and forward dub 10 and 12 happened. I *think* jon did the first sw dub 10 and he called it something stupid like a hexo flip or something. I’m just kinda going off the top of my head tho I’d have to check to be sure

Don't forget the Schrab brothers! They didn't really cork them, but they were doing some dub innovations early on. Pretty sure you're right on Jon doing the first sw dub 10.

yep! the schrabs with double misties and toben sutherland i think with the venus fly trap. the post i was responding to specifically said dub corks so i left those^ out on that post
 
also mike wilson, when he was still snowblading, tried a double misty at squaw i believe. didn't land but that was probably in like 99 or 2000

The guys who were on the old freestyle team (late 90s-early 00s) at my home mountain said they did cork 7s back in the day just because they would have really vertical kickers which put them off axis. They didn't call it corked at the time, but said "today it would be called a cork 7". I imagine it would be a similar scenario for people all over.
 
Jonny Moseley stomped the cork 7 "dinner roll" in 1998 Olympics, but he spent time learning it first.

Like most progressive tricks, the title cant really be attributed to any particular rider due to a lack of organization and communication technology. Instagram didnt exist back then...hell, smart phones were still a dream of an insane asylum patient. Video cameras would cost a few thousand dollars.

'98 was Nagano where Mosely threw the 360 mute and got gold. '02 in Salt lake was the "Dinner Roll" and a 4th place finish.
