i was reading a review with pep in freeze an issue or two back. pep said he wouldn't name names but there are some people on the scene that piss him off - specifically that there are people just doing enough to stay on the scene, but in now way progressing the sport.

who do you think he was talking about?

 
a friend of mine said Dash Longe, which could make sense. i think he's a schmuck kinda. but i dunno, i think when he says stay on the scene, he might mean someone who's been around for longer than one big year. like skiings number one fatass, Brad Holmes.

yeah you might be right about holmes. i'm gonna have to get ahold of that movie of his coming out this year because i have no idea what this guy could have done thats worthy of a movie spotlighted on him. i like dash's rail style. i was thinking more along the lines of rex thomas but i haven't really seen much footage of him lately so maybe not.

come to think of it i may have read it in powder. i dunno i was in a grocery store and all the food was distracting me.

^I know you said your going to get roasted but come on give D a break. The guy is 30 something and manager of Salomon's freeride team, what more does he need to do? He doesn't have to progress the sport, thats what the younger guys are for. Plus, most of these guys on the scene now are 20 or younger. Theres a pretty large gap between guys like Pep and Tanner and Mike D. See how much shit your body can take once your out of your 20's.

 
besides the fact mike d basically started this shit along with vinnie, jp, jf, and marc mcdonnell. so for that, we are forever indebted and if they never progress another day it doesnt matter because they started progression in skiing. i dont think pep would ever think that about any of the original guys.

 
mike d is the one who pretty much started the sport up and started the whole idea of newschool in the backcountry, and he is not on the comp scene so u cant say he needs to step aside and let someone else have a go, i still like watching his segments, but if u dont no big deal, they got a fast forward button for ya if u feel that way

dude you need to watch mike d's segment in ski movie three again before you say that. everyone should know by now that i'm all for having your own opinion, but i think you should check out some more of his footage before you say that. after all powder magazine did give him skier of the year for that shit. look for the part where he hits the big booter and theres no bombs, i think he does a huge corked or bio something - but theres no bombs at the landing , its his first try. hes dope. hes' thirty something and yeah its amazing that he can still do these ill tricks, but i think its even more sick that he still has mad style.

In no way does Poirier blow...he was one of the first guys to start the whole progession movement, or newschool movement...whatever you want to call it. Him and Vinny are still doing awesome.

its funny because its so easy to talk shit when your not in any magazines or movies ('cept for liam cuz hes tits n biscuits). seriously its easy to say that stuff but you gotta keep in mind that most of these guys made the sport what it is today. have a little respect for your elders.

I cant believe some of you would name the godfathers of as leaches who do nothing. Naming Vinnie or Philou or Shane as not pulling there wheight, you should seriously be banned from every mountain seeing as your head is not on straight.
