im probably going to Trent University next year for GIS. just wanna see who is going where/ who is where.

trent has some pretty sick, easy to set up rails on campus too...hehe

yeah i went to Laurier for Arcaheology and Geography then to FLemming for GIS/Cartographic Specialist ... lots of work with the GIS - I recommend getting into the application develloper side of it ... Java, .net, VB that kinda stuff ....

given'r to Queens engineering next year hopefully, making skiing a thing of the past. Except when I go home I guess.

 
the GIS at Trent, in the 3rd year you go to fleming to get the Tech speicalist certificate (2 year program if you do the entire GIS thing through trent) then back for the 4th year to get the honors degrees (B.A Geography)

im really interested in the cartography aspect of GIS though, why recommend the Apps. spec?

why app specialist? because software is getting better and better cartographically, What they need is software/macro designers AND/OR analysts ... see I'm specializing in Arcaehology .. its good to do that with another discipline, like forestry.

I think you'll find the 12month flemming cart spec more than enough cartographically speaking , but like i said, there's more jobs if you're keen on programming . especially web based GIS.
