Who is truly going to utilize Fujatives press system

Alright, supposedly the skis are for Fujas but i think the ski is a more joint project so the whole k2 team can bring butters into skiing hardcore...obviously if they have a ski for them and learn to do good butters to big tricks they'll be able to win every big air event and have a significant advantage on slopestyle (halfpipe even?)

so the question is who is gonna lead the butter charge?

my bet is on silva cause we saw a few this past year

I would say Fujas but he is out for the season. So my next choices would be Turpin and Silva.

i want those skis so bad, jsut for the softness and buttering capibilitys

butter is pretty much a nosepress/tailpress while spinning on the snow.

you lean really far forward (or backwards) so that your feet leave the ground while you are spinning

Wait, a nose/tailpress while spinning on the snow? I'm having difficulty visualizing this. I think Special Ed here (me) needs some more simple explanations.

buttering is turning around on the snow with only tail/nose on the snow, pressed out, you can do it to the lips of jumps or onto rails, i think that benchleter(sp)? has a chance at owning that, also silva, turpin

^that's just how 95% of people who think they're doing butters actually do them. maybe fuj's will help this problem

Abba Zabba, you my only friend

I don't think you're going to see a 'butter charge' at all to be honest. When you're at the level that all of the top pros are, its not like a ski is going to be that radical in allowing some athletes to do some tricks and some not. Yes, I know that both Johnson and Thovex had those super-modded 1080s last year and they definately did boost higher, but that was a different situation I think. A different flex pattern is just not the same type of thing. What the Fujative really is is a park specific ski for their pro team, but also an effort by K2 to produce a cheap, decent quality ski. By doing that, I think they hope to bring in new skiers that maybe didn't want to drop more money on a new pair of skis. Now, everyone knows they remember their first real pair of skis, so there ya go, a marketing dream made in heaven!

itd be sweet to see more butters especially in comps

i try to incorporate butters into my skiing as much as possible where they are needed

I think all it's going to do is let you butter like you could on a soft ski, but have the ski stiffer in other situations so you can still ride the pipe and everywhere else decently.

Do any of us realyl know for sure the Fujative is soft?

whats with you guys talking about buttering off jumps, you can only butter on onto jibs and on boxes, if you say your buttering off a jump your probably just spinning around on the snow and thats just stupid

^it pisses me off when kids just turn 180 before a rail and think they are the butter king

ya switching to 180 5 ft before the rail is not butter

Oh my god, you guys are so freakin dumb. First of all, I love the videos of these little kiddies doing a little 180 before the approach the rail and calling it a margerine. And I love the people who can envision buttering off of a jump. Doesnt anybody watch snowboarding? A butter is when you pivot on the nose or tails of your skis. You are retarded if you still dont get it.

butters are sick, i think Deschenaux, Crichton, Thovex, and Silva are gonna be doin the sickest ones

butters is just a rotation on the snow, usually before a jump. Can be nose or tail press but the skis stay on the ground. You get butter boxes to spin on before down rails as well.

i dont think it will kill switch landings. all maybe if you land WAY off balance, but i dont think it will affect if much.

It seems good, I mean, it seems like the flext pattern will jst make things easier, however, we will have to wait and see what it does to your average skiing, and switch landings. Also, what reason is there for not being able to butter on a jump? Of course you can... there is no reason why not

-Michael Lifshitz-

Here is the deal kiddies, after riding these skis for hours this weekend, they rock. I only rode the prototype version 6 for a run. I anticipated the final ski being a bit too park-specific for all-mountain riding. It can carve like a mother-fucker since it is super stiff under foot and torsionaly rigid. I even skied a bumped out run on it and it was fine. It is light and playfull, yet not so park specific that it cannot be taken outside of jumps and such. As for switch landings, it is fine. Pep and Turpin both are launching High North's big table dropping 180s of Fujatives and they had no complaints. Again, try out a friend's pair or a demo and see if you like them.

Turpin was all about these last weekend. He said they kick ass and that he can straight ollie over pic nic tables on them because they have so much pop. Ryan got on them so I had to take the PE but they should be sick! I can't wait to get some.

straight ollie a picknick table that sounds pretty amazing if its true
