When it comes to reaching for the stars, most of my family never put much effort into it. College was never a priority due to the fact that they lived in the absolute middle of nowhere. However I do have an aunt that went to college and is now the benefits director of Medtronic which the largest medical device company in the world. Who do you personally know that is either bringing in a lot of money, high up on the corporate ladder, or an established scholar?

Ski with a guy in our group (cut the lines with an instructor group) who is worth hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars. He owns massive amounts of real estate on top of being an extremely successful doctor.

My grandfather had 46 patents with Kodak. He was given credit for the carousel slide project and holds the patent to that, along with everything from carrying cases to flash devices.

Kodak dick slapped him when they started to fail, so he ended up dying a basic middle class life.

But what are you going to do. It was never about the money, the pride he took from having his name on those 46 things, is something that can never be taken away.
