Hitler was an impressive political leader, but he was an absolute idiot when it came to military matters. His arrogant micromanagement of the German military cost them the war.

General Ridgeway took a demoralized and throuroughly beaten UN army in retreat following Chinese hostilities during the Korean War and turned it around completely, restructured it, resupplied it, and fought the next three years balls to the wall against masses of North Koreans and Chinese to force a stalemate out of a war that was almsot certainly lost and very nearly resulted in the sue of atomic weapons against China.
