Who is the best character on Mario Kart?

I'd say mario. Mario is the best character on mario kart, because the game is named after him. He is the best of both worlds, he's speedy for his size, but also has size. Toad is super fast, but gets run over by mofos named bowser. Bowser gets blown past by broskis named Toad. Princess Peach, well shes just for looks....
 
yoshi is easily the best character he is wicked fast and can just beat anybody with his ultra fast speed. Doesn't even have to worry about wario or bowser, they just can't keep up
 
Toad - hands down.

If you know how to drive, there is no issue with being run over by DK/Wario
 
For super nintendo...the only kind I play, it would have to be DK and Bowzer. I have all of my personal records with them! Superstart, don't let off the gas, they are easily the fastest.

in mario kart 64 bowser is the best if you can avoid getting hit because he is the fastest but has bad acceleration. most people cant do the boost turn so if you can do that bowz will dominate
 
fuck all this wii,ps3. xbox 360 shit. i mean i wouldn't mind one but keep it old school i've been playing mario 64 since it came out and i love it. playing it now as we speak

YOSHI= best driver put him in the 100cc class and he pwns shit.
 
Depends on the version. I haven't played the SNES one in a long time, so I dunno there, but:

64: DK, as long as you get the boost start.

DD: Baby Bowser and Baby Luigi in the Toadette Kart.

DS: I'm pretty sure it was Dry Bones in the Dry Bomber, but I could be wrong.

in all seriousness my favorite character is wario. he may not be the best but i feel like i have a real connection with him.
 
SNES, i pick koopa (idkw)

64- i have not played in years

DD - id say toad and koopa in the blue toad cart... 3 red shells can really move you up in place and the gold shroom can really take advantage in those 1 shroom shortcuts over grass. yeah, so the big guys may have a higher top speed, but with the way the DD races are set up all the racers are close, the tracks are shorter that the 64 version, and you are constantly being hit with shit and always have to recover quick. In DD the big guys speed never gets to be utilized bc as soon as it is reached they are hit and have to start over again
 
the lightweights are the best hands down....yoshi, toad, and peach. the middle weights mario and luigi are mediocre at best and the heavyweights are just brutal
