Who is actually going to buy the iPhone?

as cool as it looks and probably is I am not really that psyched about it. If i had the money to buy it I wouldn't spend it on the iphone. I'd probably just get a new regular phone.
 
it's not all that ridiculous, i mean, you can have everything on this thing. $500 isn't actually that bad for a cell phone(more like something like a blackberry or treo)/ipod/internet. with all the features that it has, it's basically a tiny computer. i'm not going to get one, but my dad is planning on getting on in a year when all the bugs are rooted out.

if I had the money I'd be all over it simply because I'm the kind of person who is constantly interested in the latest technology/ what's going on/ how to get the best out of the product or hack it, etc.. but since I don't I'll just have to find someone who has it.
 
If I were to ever get one, which I probably won't, it wouldn't be the first generation. I'd wait until like the 2nd or 3rd gen. comes out so they've worked out the bugs and shit and MAYBE the price will come down. But seeing as it IS, basically every major electronic put in one, $500 isn't that bad of a price. But I don't have the cash to go throwing around on that.
 
also with the second or third generations, the price will probably go down, there may be more memory, and all the bugs and interface issues will be worked out

who else is blind to the fact that you can get phones already with all this shit on them. Hell, they've been out for over a year. Apple finally catches on and makes one with a pretty case and suddenly they are seen a "breakthrough".

I don't understand why everyone thinks the plan is so expensive??? It's $20 more a month than whatever you're currently paying for your service now. That $20 is for unlimited data (email, internet, etc), and 200 texts. how is that expensive?

 
cheapest plan for any other phone is 40 a month, and i'm making the assumption that just about everyone has a normal phone plan. so it's a difference of 20 a month.
 
i wouldn't waste my money on it...but fuck if i had a shit load of money and had nothing to buy or anywhere else to donate it hell i'd get it
 
you can add the iphone $20 data plan to ANY regular att/cingular plan. Therefore it is an additional 20$ a month. And yes, the cheapest individual plan at both att and verizon is $40 a month. Please know your info before you start an argument.

people spend more on coke/coffee/ciggarettes/etc than $20 a month. its not alot of money. get over it.
 
if you already have a cingular plan like most do . its not 2000 a 2 year. Its 500$ for the phone and then 20-60$ deoending on what more you want/texts/data/visual voicemail and such

isn't it the same size as an ipod? mine is super comfy in my front pocket. but what about the front screen gettin scratched? is it gonna come with some sort of cloth thing like the ipod? that would be ghey

an extra 20 x 24 months (2 years) = an extra $480 over a standard phone and 200 text messages is nothing so youd have to pay prolly an extra 10 a month for a thousand of them.
 
i would get it if the price wasn't as ridiculous and if it was on a better network than at&t, if it was on the sprint of verizon network and only cost about $300 then i would definetly get it

8800's do have gps, however they don't have camera's.

The Iphone will be one of the best selling wireless phones ever. Because of hype? Sure, but how well does Apple market there products?
 
they'll have one sooner or later. same thing with the razr. it used to only be availabe to cingular customers

I want one so bad, but fuck, I cant afford that shit right now, plus there is no coverage in montana so meh....i bet in the next few years they might be available here. It seems that alot of people think its gay because its so high tech, but fuck that, technology is the future. This thing is basically a mini computer that fits in your pocket. Im just gonna wait til they get cheaper or try and win one or something lol until then. Yes other companies have made devices similar to this, but none of those companies are Apple and none of those companies make as unique interface/design as apple. They always seem to think everything through to every possible outcome, which especially comes in handy for trying to fix your own shit (look up the help section on their site, its bomb) and not having to hire some guy who charges like 100$ an hour to fix it for you.

as for the whole data transfer thing being included in your phone, do people remeber the days of 56k?

i mean sure browsing the web wherever you want is "cool" but how fast is it on your phone? I bet you i could find a wi-fi cafe faster than you can download a night in paris.

there are a lot of flaws i see with the new phone technologies. a lot of wanna be cool gadgets working off of technology that is about to become the floppy disks and VCRs of yester-year. by the time we will be the "primary target" 35-49 the iphone will be the laughing stock of communication multi-media devices
 
That would be awesome except there are some people you just don't want to call unless you need to...like what if someone had poison control in their phonebook...or even 911!!! Haha...
