I know the early tricks that people threw like switch 3s but who threw down the more new school tricks first. Like new rail shit (lipslide,270) and for air stuff like first inverts or diff tricks like rodeo. all those

sry to ask sucha dumb question ive got a stupid ski patrol as a teacher and i have to do a project on this stuff.

i guess better then doing it on dead people

i dont know if you can really invent stuff like that...spins onto rails are just spins onto rails....maybe you mean who was the first? thats an impossible task.

Yea sry bout that. You know i didnt think had to be so politically correct. Who did them first. Who did the inovative trick first.

moseley had the 3mute but a bunch of other guys ( jf and jp) were doing that at the same time, the french canadians had a part in it

if your not cheating your not trying

if you guys are going to say that they did them first, at least know that it's not true. they were the either the first to land them in competition or to do them with media backup. noone can say who invented such and such of a trick.

to my knowledge, Moseley threw the first switch rodeo 7 in the 2000 US Open Slopestyle. Loubek didn't even know what to call it at the time, so I'm pretty sure it might have been the first one.

mosely only popularized the 360 mute. it was the first one done at a high competition like that. and plake adn other old skiers have done mistys way back

You don't know shit about fuck, my man-Robin Williams

See all y'all at Session 3 of High North

watch some of the old movies, guys were throwing down alot of tricks way back when

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

moseley didn't invent shit, he just did it infront of the media - and acording to freeze magazine mike douglas did the first misty... but that's not acurate at all, people have been doing that shit since the 70's, and inliners were grabbing their skis way before the N.C.A.F. came out.

they just got it out into the media as the new thing in skiing.

now I will have no more of your stupid remarks saying so and so 'invented' this and that.

yeah, a lot of stuff is derived from skating

D-Spin was Douglas' trick, and the next person that says Moseley invented ANYTHING gets punched in the face and kicked in the nuts, simply because they're retarded.

i don't think any one person invented a trick, i mean tricks pretty much evolve, someone may finish the trick and then name it, but basically they get the idea from another trick and just alter it so its' different

mosely did shit for the sport, but for some reason people get offended as soon as they hear mosely, fuck he did do some shit

agreed. I don't like the guy either but unless you have your head in your ass you can't deny he's done his part for the sport. As for the switch rodeo 7, maybe he didn't invent it all I know is when he threw it in 2000 Szocs and Loubek didn't even know what it was so that's got to be saying something.

most skiin tricks are derived from other sports so you couldnt really say anyone invented them on skis just who did em first.

here it is again, rodeos and misties and corks, were invented a LONG time ago. Dont forget, that the aerials you see today, dont look very similar to stuff before the fis took over. Cusson put grinding and flatpsins into the mainstream, dorion landed the first switch in competition, schad made backcountry booters what they are today, and douglas invented the d-spin.

To my knowledge, Eddie Lincoln invented the Lincoln Loop, or at least got name credit. Also I think Tanner was probably the first person to do the Steezee 360.

douglas didn't invent the d-spin! apparently it was invented by a friend of the NCAF in quebec.

moseley did invent something... media crossover for skiers. i am so mistified how a skier (a good skier) that isnt considered to be at the level of his peer group can have soo much attention given to him that he gets a special ramp set up in nyc, and is hosting a show on MTV? he is either a media genius, has the greatest agent in the world or witnessed some huge scandal and all of this is his bribe payoff. but props to him for keepin on keepin on

If 'pro'gress is defined as the act of moving forward, then 'con'gress must mean...

seriously - why the hell arn't any of you listening to me or others in this thread?

Mike Douglas didn't 'invent' the d-spin. he was in the limelight and got to name it - people were doing 'd-spins' before it had it's name.

NO MORE! YOU'RE ALL FUCKING RETARDS IF YOU KEEP SAYING THAT SOMEONE INVENTED A TRICK!

and as for the skodeo thing - it's just a rodeo variation, same with the dinner role. they're just different ways of doing a rodeo, so give it up.

chill man

'Marge, I've though of an alternative to giving up my beer. Basically, we become a family of travelling acrobats.'

ok - once again - you failed to listen to me. can you do me a favour and just trust me? Jonny Moseley was not 'the first person to throw the first off axis trick in moguls'. he threw a cork 7 in the olympics and has thrown 'dinner roles' in moguls before yes. but go watch 13 - Trennen Paynter (I believe, it's been a while since I've watched it) was throwing Misty's off mogul kickers in a mogul field...

noone can truly say they invented anything - it's all been done before.

TT-Aho was first to land switch double backflip on competition. And I think oldskool skiers were doing inverts way back in the 70's before fis forbade those.

And skimonkey, who's that 50? Your nigga? You mean like a house-nigga? I thought slavery was abolished in 1860's.

let me set this straight for everybody out there. nearly every flip or spin was invented during the 1970s freestyle era. 1080s were not the first twin tip ski, olin had a twin tip nearly 20 years earlier called the Mark V. around 92 people like krietler, mcconkey, and morrison were throwing grabs like thier snowboarder counterparts as a joke. it caught on 4 or 5 years later by the new canadaian air force;auclair, cusson, dorion and douglas. mike douglas did the first misty off the blackcomb windlip. jonny moseley did not invent the mute 3. he just made it popular in the 98 nagano olympics. dont knock moseley either, because if he never did that, it probably would have taken much longer for freestyle skiing to become mainstream like it is today. bio's were invented by rollerbladers, as were japans, safetys, and rockets. mutes and tails can be accredited to snowboarders. im sure in the 70s some nut threw a d-7 by accident as did douglas. ive probably made a few mistakes but thats the outline of the history of freestyle skiing. but dont worry about who invented what, because that doesnt matter. all that matters is having fun and getting scared everytime you sit at the inrun of a jump cliff or rail. peace.

i invented the scissor grab and the double press slide

changing the stereotype of skiiers one jib at a time

skiing is just like sex. when its good, its goooooood. and when its not so good, its still pretty good.

im tired of the mother fucking jacket!

a bar of soap?

haha thats right, got you good fucker!

I'm a cocksucking pussy, skimonkey5? It's a good thing you like pussy, cuz it's your only redeeming value you little bitch. Why do I hate moseley? Because he claims to have invented the mute 3, when in fact Auclair taught him that mute 3 the summer before Nagano on the blackcomb glacier. Need another one? because he renamed a common trick (corked 7) something gay for no reason, other than to perhaps claim that he invented that too. How about because he was a fucker at the first Xgames big air, and thought he didn't need to bother with his 3rd and final jump because Cusson couldn't beat him. Only Cusson did beat his score with his 3rd jump, and Moseley went back out, only to crash and look like a moron, and NOT win. He's a cocky motherfucker. One more: He might claim to be the first person to ever go off-axis in a mogul field, but that's bullshit. As mentionned somewhere above, Trennon Paynter did in 13, and JF Cusson got disqualified from a high profile celebrity dual moguls event in quebec for throwing a flatspin 7, whilst skiing against Stephane Rochon. The only thing Moseley's invented is a way to steal credit from other skiers and still make himself look legitimate in the eyes of morons like you.
