Who introduced you to NS?

The title says it all. Just post who or how you found out about NS.Stories welcome.
-I have been a skier all my life and just recently started skiing park. The only way I heard of the new pros and saw the latest gear was from watching X Games. Finally I was talking to someone about riding park and he asked me if i was on NewSchoolers. I said no and he told me to go to the website. The first couple times looking at the site was pure failure. I had no idea where to go and thought that you had to be a member to actually look at the forums, pictures, videos etc. That same kid ended up making me an account and getting me started. Since then my free time has never been the same!
 
Some random kids at SunPeaks asked me if I was on NS like 4 years ago. Tried the site and just failed everytime and hated it. Just got back into it this year.
 
Back in 2003 i first came on NS to watch my friends ski video. All downhill from there.
 
Seriously? Also, To j_hamborg I feel your pain...It was way frustrating. And Eheath at least you were around for some of the greatest threads: chads, faunt etc..
 
Google. was looking for info on resorts in Cali / Tahoe. i think i was looking for mammoth specifically and there was something in here about it. came back about a year later and joined.
 
Yeah I could imagine. Im just waiting for the epic one, preferably another 45 pager. One that the Newschoolers in in like 2019ish will look back upon and say what I do about the chads thread..."Why couldnt I be apart of that.

My buddy was always had the raddest skiing photos in 2002, back when magazines were practically the only resource for freeskiing photos, and he showed NS to me as a source for desktop wallpapers. I don't think he even knew about the forums since he never told me about them and I didn't stumble across Ski Gabber til a year and a half later. Seems like the forums were a lot more hidden back then.
 
For the first year I came to NS through some kids profile. Like I couldn't remember the name of the site so I would just google the kids username. I found it on google looking at ski pics. I just browsed the pic section for about a year. Then once I discovered the forums I made an account. That was 7 years ago, haha.
 
mine is pretty unusual. i was entering a contest to win free skis on 4frnt's website. one of the multiple choice questions was; "Which ski site do you visit the most?" There were the usual answers, freeskier.com, epicski.com etc. then i came across newschoolers.com. i had no idea what it was at the time, so i googled it. when i reached the site i was amazed by the sick articles, pictures, and videos. i lurked for the next few hours. a little while later i reached the forums. after i saw the forums, i realized i should make an account. since then, i was hooked. haha

he kinda stopped skiing though, and isn't on ns anymore
i learned about ns in about the spring/summer of 05, forgot about it until 07 when my other friend gibson (gibvicious) told me about it
 
i think it was when andrew reinhart and COC gave me one of the NS bandanas, i had no idea what it was but i checked it out. it looked super confusing so i left and then decided a year later to check it out. im addicted now haha
 
I've been a skier all my life, but I never had anyone to ski with who would actually push me to drop cliffs, try tricks in the park, and that chill stuff. I was always encouraged to ski the steeps, so I became pretty good at that, and started to get more creative and adventurous in terms of line choice. As I made my way more into the freeskiing scene, I found SKIING mag, then Freeskier.com, and started paying attention to the Dew Tour last winter. Then I found Newschoolers, and realized that it was a really cool community. Since then, I've only gotten a little bit more into park, but my big mountain skiing has gone way past what it used to be.

I always watched the XGames, and thought it was the epitome of cool... three years ago, I would have voted for Simon's dub front. I'm much better educated these days- I'm so glad I found NS since then.
 
My friend who never logs on anymore told me about it in home room about 2-3 years ago and than I started skiing park and now I am going to school in Montana...oh NS what would I do without you.

about 5 years ago i was into the old ski colonies forum, freeskiing.com. people said newschoolers was better, so i joined ns. but rip freeskiing.com you were awesome
 
I saw an ad in SBC skier I think. It looked cool and I lurked for a couple years before joining. I didn't even know about the forums until I joined. I thought being a member just let you comment on articles, pics and vids.
 
b-har406 informed me of this site. at first whenever i looked for it it would take me to this chinese freeskiing forum but then i found it. took me a long time to figure out there were forums
 
google.com searching ski's and skiingvideos, at first this site confused me and pissed me off, I then came back and lurked for a year or 2, then made an account.
 
my ski coach at the time telling me to watch x games. The first time that I was ever mad at judging.
