There are a great number of intelligent members on the site. Everyone that I have invited into the DL are a few of the members that I have a great deal of respect towards and that I feel is intelligent.

Alpinecowboy, ec-andrew, jd, the artist formerly known as anewmorning, kamikaze, jay, viperski, trevorwouldoit.. to name a few.

 
knowledge is your capability of retaining information showing.

restituing it in a logical way very quickly in response to an accusation( or wittyness) is a good way to see if you are intelligent and able to aclimate oneself to a situation and use the knowledge you have.

but you are right in some sense, it's like there's some added pressure due to this thread to look smarter.

but its the internet, i don't need to prove anything to you.

i don't doubt your knowledge, its the way you restitute it and formulate it thats shows intelligence.

while a teacher may be intelligent based on knowledge, he nay not be intelligent enough to teach it properly. a smart teacher makes his subject interesting to the class and transfers his knowledge to the students in a way such that they can then use their aquired knowledge intelligently.

you may know alot, but you can still sound like a dumbass...

its weird though, because you actually agree with my point in the first page, about how some people with great GPAs are morons, and then you contradict yourself by saying its all based on knowledge.

^ that doesn't contradict what i first said at all. you are saying that if you have a lot of knowledge, you have a high GPA. this is true a lot of the time, but there are a lot of dumbasses with high GPAs. there are also some kids that have a 2.0 because they sit in the back of class, and talk with hot bitches and don't do any homework. grades are a shitty way to measure how smart or knowledgeable you are.

 
Just because your GPA is high doesn't mean you are very knowledgable. To get a high GPA, all you need to know are the select facts you learn day by day in your classes, which often have very little scope. Additionally, you could know all the material, and still get a low GPA because you didn't do the homework.

Not to say that knowledge = smart... just saying that GPA doesn't equal knowledge.

How to put this... there are approximately 1.5 million posts in the forums of Newschoolers.com. There are countless others in comments on pictures, articles, videos, news articles, and the like. Occasionally, by pure coincidence, someone is bound to get something right. No one here is smart.

 
I would hate to say this but it would have to come down to how you define intelligence. If you mean IQ, then that is defined as the amount of information you brain can understand in a certain amount of time.

If you mean intelligence then we are all equal, our brains all have the same popential for information or the interpretation of there of. Our brains are all the same, it is the way it takes in information that is different. And everybody has his or her advantages with different forms of information. So in that recorse i would have to say that we are all equal in certain ways. There is no "most intelligent person."

I am not contridicted, as you will se in the tread that we all interpret information differently, and different IQ. We all have the same brain type, but the differences lie in when and how we see the things around us, and our own free will. If someone desides no to listen, and quits school then he will not have the same IQ, or interpriting capacities as someone who has gone university.

what you are saying is that everyone's brain hass the potential for equal intelligence. Not everyone has the same intelligence. Some people's brains absorb and process information much better than others. Sure some people are good at obsorbing certain information, but there are people who are amazing at processing and analyzing information better than the average person. We do not all have equal intelligence, stop trying to make yourself feel better about you're lack of it.
