EC-Andrew is insanely intelligent. petek and alpinecowboy are also way up there. Freezy is as well, but his cockiness, arrogance, and immaturity (not to mention the fact that he can be QUITE closed-minded) sure make me wonder how people can take him seriously sometimes. Then again, this is just NS and he could just be some modest nice guy in person. The DL has a number of smarties.

As already stated, I am quite certain there are a number of very intellectual people on NS that you just don't know about.

Disclaimer: Although the DL may have more than a couple of people with above-average smarts, many of the members are nothing special when it comes to their intellect.

I'm disappointed that this hasn't erupted into a violent argument about me... I love those. I think it's pretty much impossible to answer this question, given that people who may be downright brilliant often neglect to make posts that show off their intellect... I mean, many of you know that Maximumsushi is a funny guy, but he's also very intelligent. He just rarely bothers to make "smart" posts. I haven't bothered to engage in any debate that could be considered even remotely intellectual for quite some time, partly because it often seems like all of the discussions that arise have been posted before, and it's just not interesting to make the same arguments over and over again.

Summary of above: there is no good answer to this, but it's certainly true that many of the people mentioned in this thread, as well as others, are bright, interesting people. Thanks for the compliments from those who mentioned me (in a positive light), by the way.
