aren't that many rappers with really good lyrics. If you want good lyricism listen to slam poetry, that shit's awesome.

 
buddy how are u trying to argue against biggie, the dude speaks from experience he lived that life retard, he dealed drugs, he experienced life on the corners, he is an impeccable storyteller, with ridiculous flow, if u listen to the stuff he made when he was alive you cant get a real picture of biggie from that duets bullshit. listen to ready to die, u need to get schooled before you try to call out one of the greatest of all time.

anyway id definitely say Nas, GZA, Raekwon, Big L, Murs, there are so many really good lyricists its hard to pick out the good ones but i would def say Nas and GZA are in a class of their own

i really like jay-z.

its hard to say cause on the one hand some mainstream rappers come up with some very good lines, but its all pseudo-macho bullshit.

non mainstream rappers come up with some good lines, but with shitty beats or they just seem too targeted towards black people. I am white. the only way I can relate to rappers is about hos and blunts.

anyway my favorites are talib kweli and del the funkee homosapien. they own. i agree with a lot of the others that have been said (nas, aesop, etc.) but talib and del are just crazy.

i also really like lupe fiasco's flow. he's pretty sick.
 
I would definitely have to say Sage Francis. The way he flows and tells a story is unbeatable even by Aesop. I like Aesop better as an artist, but Sage definitely takes advantage of most words in the English language.

I didn't read the thread, because I don't really listen to rap. However, I'm in love with Del tha funkee homosapien. He is amazing in Deltron 3030 (thanks to my friend Dan the automator) as well as on his own. Just plain enjoyable to listen to.
 
lil wayne actually has really good lyrics. if you listen to some of his freestyle raps and shit, really good. he just knows what sells, and that is shit music...
