Who here still supports bush?

I will. The Taliban had actually NOTHING to do with Al Qaeda. Bin Laden was supposedly in Afghanistan and the Taliban said they weren't harboring him, but he could be in the country. We didn't try to negotiate with the Taliban, just ran in there and started shooting...look where it got us. Another new enemy and not who we originally wanted.

They keep creating more "bad guys" to make it seem like it's justified and going well. When in reality, we are blindly walking around with a knife killing people saying, oh by the way they were affiliated with Al Qaeda. It's fucked up how much bullshit we take in as a country.

haha so true.

I live in Canada and Bush is made fun of soooo much. I got one of those stupid things said by bush calenders. 300 and fucking 65 things!

Sry america, u should have just elected someone with no facial emotion like canada.

It's funny how like 90% of Canadians (and Americans) that make fun of Bush have never seen him speak, but they just assume he's dumb because everyone says so. They actually can't come up with times they've actually seen him say something dumb.

Or they just watch a compilation of clips from over his seven years in office so far... he's actually a really great speaker.

Yeah, exactly. I just hear things like...

"Like oh my god Bush is like so dumb, why doesn't he like learn to speak good."

It just makes me angry.

First of all...compared to many sources, this is wrong.

"In 1988, as the Soviet occupation faltered in Afghanistan, bin Laden turned to a global crusade. He founded the group called al-Qaeda, Arabic for The Base. According to one report from the CIA in 2001, al-Qaeda had at least 5,000 trained militants, who created cells in 50 countries."

There is no way those numbers could have been known and there is no established time Al Qaeda was formed. Notice how there were no reports of "Al Qaeda" in relation to Bin Laden prior to 9/11.

It also barley touches on the Saudi government's public humiliations of Bin Laden and why he was kicked out of Saudi Arabia. He spoke against US presence in the country and because he had the power to influence people, the Saudi government kicked him out and the US helped too.

Also, it says nothing in the article about him being part of the Taliban. The Taliban was made up of former groups left over from the Afghan revolution. Bin Laden had no affiliations with the Taliban other than they were in the same country.

your right i am not able to off the top of my head name a bunch of dumbass george bush comments, but cmon dude its not that hard to be able to tell that he is a bug douchebag.

So apparently compilations of clips dont count? And you think he is a good speaker? Well, thats your opinion fool. Soooooo many music artists these days are using his clips of absolute idiocy of what he says for intros to songs etc....Ron Paul is a good speaker, George Bush is not. Bush usually has earphones in his ears too so if he ever does sound like he is saying something decent, hes probably just repeating what someone else wrote....

Please, if you say he is a good speaker, provide proof. Otherwise, your just bullshitting.

And for the record, fuck no, i wouldnt offer to help Bush if I could save him from dieing, I would just walk away and turn my back on that fool.

Ok heres my thoughts on many of the things in this thread.

Lets start with genocide. Was what saddam was doing to his people horrible? Absolutely. But i find it convenient that rather than helping the countries in africa doing the same things every day, we help the country sitting on a giant oil field. And by your logic, somone shouldve invaded the US a long time ago, because we killed a shitload of black people during slavery. That was a genocide too.

Moving on. You say that clinton wussed out. I would actually say he was smart, thought things through and said, "hey look at Nam and Korea, i dont want to get stuck in an unwinnable war that i cant get out of for the next ten years." Pussing out? i dont think so. he was looking out for the good of our country.

To whoever said the economy was booming, it was booming before bush was in office. it began to drop once he took office and then crashed after 9/11. Its taken a long time to build back up from that. (And i wont even begin to discuss how our country takes advantage of poor countries to help its economy boom).

Bush may not be the worst president ever. (I agree that some of the decisions made about vietnam and korea were terrible) but definitely not good.

Why does the U.S. have to solve every fucking problem? Darfur is a U.N. problem, it needs massive attention and the U.S. cant give it that. I don't know where this ideology comes from that the middle east is the only place with oil. There is oil everywhere, large amounts of it, we didn't attack the middle east for oil (if not, oil alone). Back when we started slavery, we didn't understand the immorality of the situation which is why everywhere had slaves. In the 1800's people didnt want to give up their free labor (selfishness) and we fought the bloodiest U.S. battle in part to free slaves, we didn't line them up senselessly and burn them alive. Granted, we tortured, overworked, and abused them but everywhere we learned our lesson.

Clinton didn't do shit about Iraq because it didn't need anything done to it, atleast not by U.S. involvement. 9|11 happends, we are cracking down on terrorists and with a little suspicion that Iraq has WOMDs voila, we are in a war. Clinton shouldnt have done anything and Bushs dad was smart and left Iraq after Kuwait because it isnt any of our damn business.

Don't give me this fucking "Bush Ruined the economy" rant. 9|11 happend, what do we do? We increase our defenses which costs billions of dollars. Tsunami hits, what do we do? We give them billions of dollars. We get in the war, what do we do? Drop huge amounts to keep the war effort alive and increase war technology to preserve the lives of our brothers, sisters, fathers, sons. Illegal immigration has spiked tremendously, costing us billions each year, and they gladly send this money back to Mexico or whereever. Gas prices have been shooting up which doesnt help us out at all and not only that our car sales have been going down the shitter while Toyota and Honda are doing incredible, even out-selling General Motors. Sooo much shit has happend in the Bush presidency to fuck up our economy, you cant blame him.

Ok agree with you on the first two points, that was the point i was trying to make i hope im making that clear.

However bush not ruining the economy? He controlls the war in iraq, he got us in it. So hell yeah its his fault that cost us money. And oil prices are going up because of the war, so yeah once again thats his fault. Car sales? of course toyota and honda sell more then gm its because they dont make crappy cars. they dont follow the american moto of build it cheap, worry about maintaining it later. its all about making money now, not thinking about the future of the product.

Katrina cost us money and yes it wasnt bushs fault, but you gotta admit, it could have been handled alot better, and prepared for better, in which case it would have cost us less money in the long run.

Cars aren't Bush's fault. I'm not sure of the direct effect the war is having on oil prices, I think its mostly fear of running out so people are jacking up the prices but I'm sure it is somewhat effected.

We expected to loose money when we went into war, we thought it was to protect us in the future well I suppose thats half a trillion dollars wasted because we really havent benefitted from the war at all.

yeah protect us from what??? he probably should have thought that through before he dropped half a trillion dollars into the war

haha dude were one of three countries that are permanently on the council and we created the UN. we pretty much own it

your obviously retarded because him acting out is getting thousands of americans killed. he blatantly doesnt support the reduction of global warming (maybe its a conspiracy to destroy the world). the things he says are completely fuckin moronic and often make me wonder if the rest of the nation is like him because they voted for him. most of the decisions he makes are ill thought out and stupid: i.e. staying in iraq for 4 years. i can understand him going in retaliation of 9/11, but the idiodic decisions hes making lately make me ashamed to be american.

Bush put one of the worst general's he could of to handle this new troop surge in Iraq. Bush doesn't stand up for the soldiers who are now facing military trials due to the fact that they accidentally kill civilians clearing out buildings with insurgents. One guy is facing a life sentence because obeyed orders to clear out a building with an insurgent sniper and ended up killing the sniper as well as a woman and child the bastard had been hiding behind.

Bush does nothing to defend those who are risking their lives for his war.

Bush doesn't run the country him self. You also have all of congress the senate + state and local officials. Its not bush's fault its everyones

You know what i love more? Blanket statements that are backed up by any facts.

here's another example:

God, i hate fucking liberals who all they do is bash Bush everytime they can, and yet never have any sort of constructive, plausible criticism to offer...

you know what, i'm fine with not supporting the president, but you need to come up with a viable alternative, and guess what, as of right now, it does not exist. The debate over the Iraq war is a moot point - were there already aren't we? Now, we need to help the Iraqis to rebuild and attain a state of ruling that works for them (hell, not everyone can rock democracy...). The problem is, its a damn long road, and with the nature of the beast that is the Media, whatever great successes might be happening in the war are immediately dwarfed by the sensational nature of reporting on the deaths of US servicemen and women.

Thanks Cronkite for fucking up the Tet Offensive UNITED STATES MILITARY VICTORY, and turning the tide of the war, pretty much with one report...

Disclaimer: I am not aligned with any party or view point, as factions are detrimental to democracy IMO.

War is never about the thing people tell you it is.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Dude we are loosing billions upon billions of dollars on this war. Now if you were talking about arms sales, then you would be right.

Tell me one fucking reason going invading Iraq was a good idea. I had many reasons why I thought this was a bad idea 6 fucking years ago. I still think it was a bad idea. To be completely honest, I believe Bush could probably be sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.

Dude just because people say they support Bush, that doesn't mean they support the war. I support Bush, but I think it was the biggest mistake ever to go to war, and his little run for Iran has to be stopped as well.

Theres more ways to make money than from selling arms. And the billions of dollars aren't just coming from government coffers.

not necessarily - I can see why somebody would say that. You don't LIKE or agree with the president, but because he IS the head of the country, you support him, as you live in the country that elected him. It's the whole 'support your country, your gov't and the head of the gov't because it won't do you any good to NOT support him, though you will more than likely vote accordingly during the next election. It's a patriotic response and I like it, though I do understand why the rebellious crowd wouldn't take it.

i think bush sucks because

--he took us to war with irag with no suffcicient eveidence of any immediate threat

--he is trying to picka fight with iran with no sufficient eveidence(my friend is from iran and has a bout 40 family members there, they are using atomic energy to cut down polution)

--why can't other countries have nuclear arms if we can

-----no one should

--he wastes money on pointless things

--fuck higher interest rates

--fuck the higher postage

--abortion i dont liek but hey we can't control everyones life

--OIL

--we are too eager to pick fights

ill try to think of more i havent thought about it for a long time

well we have that fucker and hes dead. yet were still fucking over there.and yes kerry would have been a lot better.

kerry knows how to say nuclear.

I support some of his things, but disagree with others things he does as well. He is doing a better job than what Kerry wouldve done. We really havent had a good president since Reagan in my own opinion.

Ok another intelligent answer, backed with supreme spelling. I'll take these 1 at a time.

1. Yes, he took us to war with Iraq, but obviously he's done a good job convincing Congress why we should be there if they paid for it for 4 years.

2. We aren't trying to pick a fight with anybody, when we see that a country is starting Nuclear programs we don't give them the benefit of the doubt. Also, I highly doubt his family in Iran are going to be told the complete non-biased truth about their Nuclear programs.

3. Other countrys DO have Nuclear Arms, and we are trying to stop the spread of them. I understand nobody should have them but it's too late for that, we didn't understand what they could do. We aren't going to disarm ours and let countrys like North Korea still have them (you can't seriously expect them to disarm).

4. He wastes money on pointless things, right. If you consider increasing defense budget pointless, then maybe. Bush has cost money, which is to be expected on war. Bush only gets grilled for spending money because nobody likes him. Lets look at a well-known president Reagan, he spent 1 TRILLION dollars on a program nick-named "Star Wars" which was an essentially useless missile-destroying laser. Did that work? Hell no it didn't. His economic policy "Reagonomics" Failed too, the 'Trickle-Down' theory sucked but was he considered a bad president? No, because he worked the American people well (which Bush can't do for shit).

5. Higher interest rates? What about'm? We're trying to rebuild an economy here (which has been in debt since 'Nam)

6. ? See #5

7. Bush doesn't control the oil industry, he tried to make his own Oil Company once and he failed and we'll leave it at that.

8. Too eager to pick fights with? I'm sure any president just wants to ship our soldiers off to god knows where and blow shit up, right?! No. Who have we 'picked fights with'?

Uhh, no, there's 5. U.S., U.K., France, Russia and China, and if any of them say no to something it's automatically over-ruled.

Bush is a complete tard... i cannot stand listening to him he's just so stupid... no child left behind, i think he was left behind. I'm not saying i don't support our troops or our country or anything, I will always support our troops and the country... just not supporting Bush. It's painful to watch him give a speech, he is so very not intelligent. He laughs at himself and makes himself look like a complete ass. You can say what you want, but i don't really care i just believe that Bush is an idiot and I can't wait for a new president to bring the country out of debt and out of a war that isn't getting us or them very far.

everything is his fault. everything.

jokes jokes

but he is pretty bad. one of, if not THE worst the U.S. has ever had
