ok well i have always downloaded music and still do but this summer is i deceded that i was going to start to buy more cds and i have been

so who else still buys them?

really the only time i still buy cds is if i am at a show of a smaller band, and might not be able to get their music elsewhere.

if i can get a new release on itunes for 9.99, or at barnes and noble for 18.99, for me the choice is obvious. some people cite the lower sound quality of mp3s as a reason to stick with cds, but i find the difference negligible

i recently found out how to get any full cd i want for free on the internet in about six seconds so i don't really think i'll ever buy cds again

Im broke most of the time so i cant afford to buy CD's but if i had the money i defiantly would. I like to have a physical copy of the music and burning a disk just doesnt cut it for me. Someone here will know what im talking about

yeah I know just what ur talkin about, i still buy cd's and even if i cant buy as many cause of the $ it feels better to have the real cd and case

i usually listen to all the songs on the album on youtube, then if the majority of the songs are goog, ill go buy the cd (i did that for dead prez - we want freedom, all of the wu-tangs cds as well as solo albums, jedi mind tricks cds and many many more)

if i only find 1 or 2 good songs ill download them, not worth buying the album

even if my cd player in my cars have an aux input and a usb receiver, i prefer to have the real copy with me

Not too often, but if I download some underground artist that I really like (i.e. MURS), then I'll buy a CD to support them. Other than that, I usually just download everything.

I buy cd's from bands who need the money. IE those who aren't on mtv. I also buy when I go to live concerts, or from really legit artists.

For exampe:

The newest radiohead CD, In rainbows, was posted on their website as a Set your own price CD. Most people set the price at 0.00. I figured, "hey their music is awesome, so I'll give em some scratc" $5 isn't much, but its more than nothing.

Usualyl I download music to listen before I go out and buy. Like I downloaded a couple of broken social scene songs, loved em, and went out and bought two of their CDs that were both under $10.

Most of the time i buy cd's because i like having it plus supporting the artist. also if my computer does die i will still have all my music

i almost always buy cd's, ever since i was a wee one I've bought them, probably up to about 500 and the rents have twice that, i love the sound and get stuff on vinyl if i can!
