How exactly can you make that assumption? Have you actually listened to the lyrics and comprehended them? Do you understand the history of the genre?

If you're just going to keep hating then why waste your time posting in the thread. The whole point was to see who on NS likes the genre and what bands they listen too. I'm always trying to find new bands and I figured this would be a good way to do that.

For all those with positive/ amusing posts; I thank you for your contributions.

Gotta mix things up sometimes. The only music I hate is the bad music pushed as a one time use kind of thing. "Omg it's my favorite song ever" until the next shit song comes out then they move on.

same here, my ipod classic just broke though so now I'm limited to whatever I can fit on my phone and/or ipod shuffle. Most of my friends don't understand how I can listen to such varied music and enjoy it all the same, but I like a little of everything.

Lyrics are definitely not the most important thing about a song. The song is the most important part. Lyrics play an integral part, but to give them importance over everything else? How about the feeling you get when you hear Jimmy Page pour his soul out on the guitar? I don't really give two shits about hardcore so to each his own.

I don't really understand the hate towards the thread, but your posts in it are dumb

Hardcore is the worst. I have been to hundreds of metal shows and when a hardcore act opens, I normally leave the venue then come back. Lately all the hardcore gigs are all ages or no booze because 90 percent of the audience is in middle or high school.

The only somewhat hardcore band I like is Everytime I Die.

Hardcore is just awful. It is just metal by numbers.

 
i listen to hardcore music. i am going to say that perhaps the most hardcore music ever has to be the early limp bizkit (1997-2001). the idea of hardcore music now is much different than it was in the early 2000s, woodstock 99 has to be the best example of hardcore music, and i do not think that the type of hardcore music that was played at woodstock 99 will ever emerged again. the hardcore music scene during the late 90s early 2000s was just different.
 
I was never really into the scene, but I was a big fan of Underoath's "They're Only Chasing Safety." Pretty catchy, still listen to it from time to time.
