Who hates us more? Old alpine racing people, or snowboarders?

I read on a site, that us newschool skiers, are hated by old racing people and that snowboarders arn't a rivalry. I'd have to say, I think that's pretty true. I hate those damn old funny carver people.
 
I think snowboarders are starting to accept us way more.

I read a funny article in ski canada about some ontario women tlaking about how snowboarders and skier should have different runs lol. And she said she has some friends who are scared to go skiing because the "snowboarders" are going to run into them and hurt them. And she said she knows of people who have died from the boarders hitting them. And then to top it off she said that all the boarders are ruining the names of ski resorts nationally and internationally LOL. I just thought it was soooo halarious and she was soooo dumb.
 
my dad use to be a big time racer, like extremly close to us ski team but he thinks the whole rails n jumps n stuff is totally rad.
 
i think the racers that dont like it are mostly just jealous that they cant do it. i can honestly keep up with most racers when they are doin their sweet power carving thing and im pretty much right in their tracks, which is quite the accomplishment considering how well tuned there skis are vs. the fact that i detune mine.
 
Actually a snowboarder ran into my friend once and broke his leg its was a spiral fracture so it was pretty bad
 
there's definately a descending gap of hatred between skiiers and snowboarders...all the oldies are mad cuz their knees won't let them get more than 3 inches up.
 
well the shitty snowboarders that snowboard because their friend talked them into it or just walked out of zumiez thinking snowboarding is the shit will hate skiing more, but then again, when they go into the park, its quite obvious that they are in the wrong place

some of the conservative old racers hate it, but i know some who get really stoked. i would say just the bad snowboarders are the ones with the most hate.(good ones show respect, and they certainly get respect back)
 
it was the first open day at out hill right they only had the terrain park and a flat run thing but ll the snowboarders were pissed at us cuz they said we were fuckin up there jumps but then you look at the lip on the jump right and theres this snowbarding dent in it haha but then we built a lip on a different table ( because the hill didnt put lips on the tables yet) and then the snowboaders come and fuck up it so i think some snowboarders are hatin on us and then others arnt. and theres not a lot of old ppl that ski at this hill so yeah
 
i would say old people, once i was at killy, and these two old men started making fun in french of me and my friend. since i live in montreal, i knew what they were saying and then we started talking about them. it was fun
 
old racers are always cool

i was on a chair with this one guy and he was in a race suit and i thought he was going to be an annoying old person, but it turned out that he owned a pair of ar5s. That really cought me off gaurd
 
yeah alot of oldies rep with the new ski gear...at my hill we dont get res\pect but we are gaining it
 
I think the only people still hating are old dudes that have SWITCHED to snowboarding... and feel superior because they ride one board now instead of two. im sittin here goin what the hell ?
 
haha i was buying these bindgs form a guy and he's like these are some pretty nice bindings "yeah they should hold up to a park beating" he's like "your one of those dam twin tipers" so i proceeded to say "fuckin right i'm a "twintiper" then i went on a rant on how f/s skiing is way better than the shit he does for like 10 minutes.
 
stop the hate man. all aspects of skiing/snowboarding are equally cool, it just depends on the person. if i see a boarder throwin down some cool shit, i give props and i expect the same from them.
 
i have an NFA jacket and Burton pants both r quite baggy. i was in a lift line and a snowboarder road past me saying "I HATE IT WHEN SKIERS TRY TO LOOK LIKE SNOWBOARDERS". well id just like to say that i cant help that snowboard companies make sicker more affordable outerwear than ski companies.

I'd also have to add that I hate newschool freeskiers too, yet I'm not an old ski racer, or a snowboarder... chock it up to stupid threads like this, and every 12 year old having shit skis and being better than me, and 18 year olds having shit skis and being worse than me.
 
ive been takin out by more snowboarders then skiers but thats just cuz they were sucky little kids, not cuz they had a grudge against me.
 
snowboarders... old alpine skiiers are tight to talk to on the chair lift... old school and new school comming together... Knowing that they love the same thing we do... shareing old and new stories about taking "breaks" in the woods....
 
my dad's friend had a snowboarder slice though half his face and he ended up loosing his eye. like, the guy was flyin down a grommer and hit a bump and caught air and his edge just sliced the side of this guys face like a knife, now he only has one eye and a giant scar

"so i am at a party with a bunch of ski kids, and the university of utah ski team walks in with like 5 dudes, and the first thing the kids says when he walks in is "I ski" in a jock type voice, and the room goes kinda silent, then a kids asked him where he skied, and then said "if you dont ski alta than you dont ski" and one kid had a race jacket on and kids were like "do you ride for chevy trucks or visa card?" and the kid was like, "i dont ride, i ski"
 
i always get ragged on by my snowboard friends, but at the end of the day we still had a blast. just have fun, hatin on people is stupid.
 
yeah id say like 80% of borders think its cool and like 30% think its really cool, like ive got this friend who is pretty good at snowboarding, and he thinks skiing is cooler, just cause he has tried it and thinks its alot harder and you can have more style.

theres only some stupid cocky snowboarders that think skiings stupid.
 
I think both split in the hate/love, I know old guys who think that twins are super cool and jumping is insane, and others who look right past you and can't even acknowledge your presence, and the same is true with boarders.
 
um last time i checked dynastar had a whole line of nice twin tips and was sponsoring some of the best skiers in the industry like cory vanular
 
Maybe we should have diffenrent schools, drinking fountains, and bathrooms. Then we can sit in the back of the bus. This person is an idiot

I have some CSIA instructor friends that are such annoying ski nerds. Couple days ago i picked up one of their magazines and started making fun of the sequence shots of people carving. one of them actually asked me "anyone can go fast off a jump but can you name all the stages and proper technique of a turn?"
 
I think the old alpine racing people are the worst for newschool skiing power

about who hates who I don't really know but those god damn 50-60 years old who think that we sucks damn I hate them more than a snowboarder who hate skiing
 
I think the old folks will come around. They just need some time to get use to the new world of skiing. I always had old guys joking with me saying I put my skis on backwards and stuff like that. But they were nice about it. And people always asked questions about me skis (Mothership Flites) like what they are for and how do they skis compared to carving skis. I definetly had some grumpy old ladies give me some guff about skiing in the terrain park and all the "kids" in there going to fast and playing on the "obsticles course". I think the attitudes are changing though and people are seeing that just like them we are just faving fun on our skis.
 
old people = chill, most of them are allways really friendly and interesting and ask questions about my skis and shit

snowboarders = chill, we all ride with them everyday and know most of them rip, my best friends are snowboarders

young racers = bunch of asshole fuck heads who dont know shit and think they are better than you because they can ski exactly like their coach.
 
Old racers are usually chill guys, some of them even watch people hit jumps in the park and stuff. there cool.

snowboarders are usually fine, except i hate it when people automatically snowboard because they think its "the shit" and then rag on skiers about skiing and stuff, when, in my opinion, freestyle skiing is so much sicker than snowboarding.

Young racers are usually fine. my parents make me race, and a bunch of the kids have twintips as well as race skis, me included. we go into the park and shit too, just not as often. There is the occasional racer faggot that is so cocky and gay, and i hate them, but usually there fine. i was gonna even sell my old twins to a friend that races at my mountain, but they were way to small for him.
