Who Hates Green Day?

I do. I've heard that gay boulevard of broken dreams song a billion times and it makes me wanna stick nails in my ears. and to top it off that one guy wears makeup.
 
cant say that i hate them but i know what you mean...their newest album wasnt near as good as their others...but thats just my opinion...and yes, that song is way overplayed
 
They define the term "sellout." I was never into their music but I know back in the day they were pretty good at what they did. Today, however, they are terrible.
 
thers nothing that pisses me off more than that My Shadow song my sister used to sing it all the fucking time until i broke the cd
 
Their old stuff was fucking awesome.. I've always been into Green Day and they'll always be my number one band. I admit that their newest CD isn't at all simular to what they used to play but I still respect them.. They sold out but they still manage to write really good songs in my opinion. The whole Billie Joe make-up thing is gay, I admit.. He looks like an idiot. He never used to wear make-up.. but I've been buying their Cd's ever since they released Dookie and I'll always respect them..

Sold out? Their first two albums, while they did have good songs, they were poorly produced, badly recorded, not mixed well... Once they finaly released a cd that was properly made from a major recording studio, Dookie, it sold like hotcakes. And their domination has reined supreme ever since 1994. Their weakest album in my opinion is Warning, but it's still pretty good. They write their songs, and play the music. But I guess when your first major label release sells over 11 million copies internationaly people will call you a sell out. I guess it's too bad they have a lot of fans who enjoy their music. Also American Idiot was the first Green Day record ever to debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. So yea I guess if your 7th album finaly gets released at number one then you've sold out. Quit hating. If you're sick of hearing them on the radio buy an ipod and you can listen to whatever music you please.
 
anything dookie and before rulled everything after sucked, 39 smooth is still thier best album. anything off lookout records rules.

love or hate, you have to respect what they've done.

How many bands can you name that have done what they have done. They put out a huge album, a few other pretty good ones, and then over a decade later release their best work to date. I might not think that American Idiot still sounds as good as it did when i bought it, but it's still the best stuff they've done.

Perhaps I"m just prejudice because I've seen them so many times. Hands down the best live band you will EVER see.
 
they're not too bad. i wouldn't listen to them in my free time, but i'd tolerate listening to them if they were already on
 
american iodiot musically is there best work but they are supposed to be a punk band and all i want from my punk bands is power chords. so again i will say 39 smooth is their best album and i hate when bands get preachy, what have they done to deserve any respect on a polliticall front, just cause they can write songs and have made alot of money does not give a band the power to tell me how i should vote or think, think for yourself question authority.
 
if you want power cords n shit then incomniac should be your favorite album. O wait they were too sold out by then. And on more than one occasion they have said they arn't punk. Anyway I don't care what music you listen to. I just happen to be a fan of Green Day, and have been for a long time.
 
I'm curious to know what all you guys hating on Green Day listen to... Their music has evolved through the years and Billie Joe sounds fucking aweosme on stage. It's a matter of personal opinion but I haven't heard any good arguments as to why they suck other than Billie Joe wears make-up and they sold out. They made it to where they are today because of their talent, because they were the best of the best and not because they were marketed from the start. Their new album is a different side of Green Day but they still managed to take over the world so for that I respect them... and the fact that they write really awesome jusic that makes you think....
 
i dont like them, there early stuff was good, but now they are soo god damn over played and the sogs make you want to kill yourself after a while. they need to do like a rebirth album, and try to make music like they used to. but even then it will get old fast, but at least it will be a bit better.
 
stuff off of dookie (their one cd i have) and nimrod (and i presume earlier is good), but oh my god everytime i hear american idiot i want to castrate billy joe... oh wait he probably already did that himself.
 
just because somehting is #1 doesn't mean it's good. Most people listen to music that's easy to listen to because theyre so fucking stupid and narrow minded.
 
no one said being number 1 on the charts mean't the music was good. Most people can't read well and replace the context with their own ideas because, as you put it, "theyre so fucking stupid and narrow minded"
 
Green Day have been overplayed and selling out since Dookie's been out.

Stop acting like a bunch of hypocrites, jumping on the hate bandwagon and saying that "their early stuff was good" just to make yourself look cool. Their stuff has never been good.
