thats lame man. don't go hating on people like that. we're all skiers here. we all want to have fun. i bet you aren't THAT perfect in your skiing anyways.
 
The only thing wrong with skiing is the mindset that it should look a certain way.

No matter what aspect of the sport you look at, that's more often than not the root problem.
 
this thread absolutly pisses me off.

Kohl is one of my very good friends and for you to call him out saying hes a perfect example of one who can ski park but not all mountain.

Do you even fuckig know kohl?

The kid ski raced from 3rd to 8th grade!

He was an alternate for the juinor olympics when he raced.

Just cause he doesn't have any bc lines in his promo doesn't mean he can't ski bc. Kscho fucking kills the bc. But seriosly who wants to fucking film lines on a powder day?
 
Just to let you all know.

Kohl Schoening didn't start skiing park til 8th grade.

8th grade he was racing at the time so he had no time for park really.

9th grade year washington had its worst snow season of the year and him and i skied MAYBE 20 days.

10th grade (this year): Kohl absolutely kills it in the park now. AND THE BC!
 
Wow, I can't believe what I just read. I've seen Kohl tear it up at my mountain. He is legit, I mean shit, his video says it all.

kohl sucks at everything, those shots aren't even of him. kohl is actually 200 pounds overweight and eats skis instead of riding them.

I can't do a 9 mostly because I ski pollard style...switch 3's and 5's off cliffs/cornices/BC booters

Kohl is a good SKIER. Not just park, not just pipe, the kid can ride the whole mountian...switch if he fucking wants to.

He comes from a strong skiing background, his dad was involved in the national program.

There is no rebuttle avaliable here, you dont know him, you've seen 2.5 minutes of skiing and from that you judge his capability...the arrogance you must have to judge someone so openly is simply shocking.

nope, im not going to let this thread die. for the fact he used Kohl as an example is just ridiculous. Kohl fucking ski raced! He learned how to ski. I don't think he would continue with ski racing for 5 years if he wasn't somewhat good at it. The "too erect" comment is hilaroius because all year kohl has wanted to progress the just laid back/pencil steeze. Kohl doesn't want to have a similar style like all you kiddies trying to be just like thall and all those guys. he's doing what everyone should be doing. thats create your own style.
 
wow way to generalize....you ski the east coast. ive seen east coasters who have gone bc skiing otu west and on their first day, they stomped a zero spin off a 20ft cliff. ive also seen a 5 off a 20ft cliff on this other kids first day dropping cliffs. you can ski the east and know what your doing off cliffs. you just gotta be a good, talented skier. if you can adjust to stomp shit perfect in park you can stomp shit in bc. you just gotta be a good enough skier to make adjustments.
 
the only thing i could really call out in kohl's video is that his body isnt quite controlled. he doesnt have the spin degree down to exact but what does it matter? i dont see what the point of calling a kid out for is when hes not pro.
 
I thought that vid was sick. and the cliff is definitely more than 20 feet. and it looks like he just underestimated the snow depth and thought it was steeper than it was. All in all, that vid is solid

i was thinking about writing a big reply bitching you out, but i realized everyone has done that for me. I will say two things that i feel are important though. First, until three years ago, kohl was a racer and therefore you are incredibly far off by saying he has no form and cannot ski outside of park. and second, the fact that this is only his third year in the park (and last year washington barely had winter), i would say that he is absolutely amazing and far exceeds any random 10 year old.

hey man chill but from reading the kid's thread i agree, there are far too many park skiers that can't make a turn for their life. Keep in mind that I didn't see your promo but the shortcomings that are described about your skiing technique reflect a poor skiing backround. sorry, also I never said you can't ski, the thread was based on all kids that stink at making turns but ski park, you were just an example, i never mentioned anything about you

and for the people who say i can't ski i'll let you know i raced for 7 years and my credentials include state cahmpion multiple medal performances at junior olympics and took 5th place at an international race called the whistler cup.

also i have won local mogul contests to add to the fact that i'm not 1 dimensional and can outski 99% of the people on this site
