Who has the worst local ski area?

Shitty ski area < crazy urban spots

I think I have good chances of winning this ''commpetition''. The closest ski area from my home is gay. Literraly, 6 tracks, 25 seconds of riding for 10 minutes in the chairlift. Shittiest park alive, 1 jump, 2 rails. Backcountry, powder, snow? Meeh

This pretty much sums up my local hill. less than 200 vertical feet so it takes seconds to go down and its always super crowded so lift lines take 5-10 minutes. And the park is non-existent, theres two crap boxes. I have to drive almost two hours every Saturday if i want to ski even a half decent hill.

Me, i ski at Sundown, a beautiful resort located just 10 minutes from Dubuque Iowa. With nearly 350ft of verticle, and an average snowfall of 25+ inches of icy hardpack falling every year, we would be thrilled if you would come and join us this winter. See you soon!

25 inches of icy hardpack? No, soft snow falls from the sky...and your mountain turns it into icy hardpack.

illinois couldnt be worse, my local "mountain" is a landfill, and its like a 10 second ride down, plus its 2 hours away

Anyone who has to drive more than 2 hours to get to their hill.

I live 5 minutes away from mine. Its decent and close so I can't complain.

i live in uk and 1 hours drive away i there is a small local ski lift that is 580m long ( poma)
Annoys me when people complain that there park is bad or they get no poweder, if i get 5 days there a year its considered a good season!

Well out of all the shittest hills in new york, I believe that I ski in one of the better ones. I live 30 mins. away, it has a decent park, good terrain for new york, and almost always good snow.Lab represent!

untill a few years ago we didnt have a park, now we have a few beat up rails, open maybe a few times a year, you can only hit one feature at a time, no jumps of any sorta, 600 vertical but most of the year one the bottom is open so thats about 250-300vert

3 trails

1-2 lifts when half the hills open

weekends upwards of an hours wait for the chair

thunder ridge for life, but if it was for it i would have probably never got into skiing years ago,

My local mountain is thunder ridge. this is from there terrain park page on there website

"Terrain Park

We’ve had the park up and running since mid December, with the recent cold snap we were able to make a lot of snow in the park and Thursday night the park crew stayed late to set our rainbow box and kink rail so we’ll have 7 elements in the park for this weekend.

Come on out and show off your best grabs’ butters and ollies"

There largest jump is closing in on 5 feet on a good day. With 200 vert, its is someone's backyard and they decided to charge $50 a person.

I'll trade you Mt. Brighton for Pine Knob anyday... Hell, take Alpine Valley too.

I moved so I'm not complaining.

Willamette "Mountain" in Illinois, 100 ft vertical. Made out of a former garbage dump and I one time I saw neon yellow stuff oozing out of the snow (and it wasnt piss). I grew up on that mountain! I'll never go back!

Been to Canada Olympic Park before? your hill looks almost identical, minus the giant ass ski jump thats never used anymore.

some of these sound terrible. but i have three locals and whistler two hours away to choose from, so I can't complain
