Who has taken MMA classes?

MMA no, Judo, Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling yes.

i recommend just doing that, then you can combine everything together. MMA is way too broad,

if ur gunna do some mma do a mix of ju jitsu judo, kick boxing and karate dont go to a mma place and try to use non profit clubs rather than a person who only cares about ur money. the quality of the teachin WILL be better.

mma and kimbo slice so trendy right now.

if you want to be a badass have your buddie, apollo creed fight dolph lundren and die, then get super motivated for revenge and go to russia and train out in the snow for the fight of your life.

I don't know about karate the term karate now covers a very wide range of styles (of karate) and the majority of them i would say are not practical. But, your right if its a karate place that is non-profit then its probably not some retarded north american money making version of karate for kids, or adults looking for fitness.

learn jiu jitsu right away, mainly so you learn how to distribute your weight when you fall and how to do the ninja roll.

meh, Judo is actually probably the best. At least it was for me, cause almost all fights end up on the ground and Judo is basically all take downs and ground work. I'd recommend taking kung fu aswell, I havent taken it but one of my good friends is a black belt in it and he showed me some crazy shit that I had no idea about.

One of my Hap Ki Do teachers does MMA, pretty cool stuff, he competes in a league or something i think.

UFC is messed up shit though, I'm pretty sure most of those guys are hopped up on 'roids, don't try to be like them kids.

claim here, but my sister's boyfriend is a movie stunt man, so he knows all kinds of fighting styles, and he said muai thai (ong bak, the protector) was the coolest. He met a master, and his exact explanation of him was "he could probably kick me in the leg, and i'd die"

Naw man, they get tested, the only thing i dont realize is... how the fuck did brock lesner fight in UFC, that man bathes in roids.

judo is really helpful to have experience in but.. if you use judo in an mma fight you'd get owned. Judo is a fighting system for helping you do well in judo in terms of like judo competitions, and one of the goals in judo is not to get your back pinned to the ground so say your on the ground and the other guy is on you, in order to avoid getting shoulders pinned, you turn your back to them. Then... with mma rules you get rear naked chocked (which dosen't happen in judo). I'm sorry if i'm wrong i just heard that somewhere.

ya dude... that's why i've done jiu jitsu as well... I wanna take some kung fu though, theres so much shit to learn in kung fu it's insane. As for the Judo though, it's amazing for just a regular fight on the street, I've only had to use it once, combining a bit of jiu jitsu with it, but basically fights start off with the other person pushing you. This guy was pushing me i wrapped and locked both his arms, headbutted him then hip tossed him into the ground, was about to kick him in the face or knee in chest and punch him but one of his friends pushed me away luckily before i could do anything. The speed you get from martial arts is rediculous because you are constantly doing combinations so this all happened in a very very short amount of time.

boxing pretty sick but in terms of what were talking about in this thread i bet most would beg to differ.

brock isnt on roids. see how fucken small he is now compared to when he was in wwe. he was just under 300lbs in wwe now hes what like 260. definetly doesnt have the muscle he did back then.
